# Improvements:

* Improved quality of video received from Skype on mobile devices
* Skype shows users' presence icons on collapsed contact profile cards
* Conversation topic editing button is now always available on the conversation header
* If a phone number is added to a profile after a failed call attempt, Skype starts a call automatically
* Automatically switch to SMS entry after user adds mobile phone number to profile after failing to send SMS due to lack of phone number

# Fixed issues:
* Video
- Video sending was sometimes not started if user had set computer to auto-answer and to start sending video.
* Outlook contacts
- Outlook contacts without country code gave an error message triggered error message when trying to call them after adding country code
* Call Quality Indicator
- Two call Quality Indicators were opened if user change from default mode to compact mode when Call Quality Indicator was visible.
* Call Phones
- Call Phones number suggestion made it hard to call short numbers
* Instant Messaging
- Long, not yet sent, IM entry was getting deleted when switching to SMS mode in conversation
* Call Phones
- Call Phones number suggestion made it hard to call short numbers
* Screen sharing
- In case user who is not in your contact list tried to share a screen with you and then receiver declined, the sender was still seeing that he is sharing a screen.
* Calling
- In compact mode call was not sent to full screen if user chose it from the main menu.
* Calling
- No credits popup on failed call showed rates for users default country and not a country where he tried to call.
* Call Phones
- Call phones localizations did not fit into user interface in some languages
* Contact list
- It was not possible to delete contacts from the contact list by pressing 'delete' key on keyboard
* Instant Messaging
- When replacing a quote with a new quote then all the further messages sent to conversation appeared as quotes.
* Screen sharing
- It was not possible to stop a screen sharing on a recovered call.
* File sending
- Cancelling file transfer dialog was not correctly displayed in Right-To-Left languages.
* Profile
- Adding a number to contacts profile played a windows default error sound sound
* Accessibility
- Adding people to ongoing call did not indicate which persons are selected already.
* Accessibility
- Sending contacts windows did not indicate which contacts are selected.

Sorry, but SKYPE does not currently have that option. Not sure if you go to START-->Control Panel-->accessibility Options-->Display--.High Contrast Settings if that may help.

zigzag I've looked EVERYWHERE for this screen and I don't think I have it. Please tell me where to find it. I looked first under Tools, Options and couldn't find it anywhere. Then I opened up an IM to see if I had any screen like that in my IM settings --- and I don't. I even checked the 'Help' link, and unfortunately, all it says is go to Tools, Options --- but doesn't tell you where to go next. Can you help?

Hi Jan, very strange --- I have only 3 clickable links under Skype Contacts: Add, Search, and Conference. I don't have any 'Tools' link there. I only have a Tools link in the main Skype Menu, under which there are no IM settings -- but there are "Chat and SMS" settings. However, even there, under Appearance, there are only 2 choices: 1. Skype basic and 2. IRC-like style (which is basically a generic Courier-type font in the same tiny size type.

I think I must have a different Skype version than you all. I'm going to go on faith here, and upgrade to the most recent version. I'll report back after I do that.

Finally, I think I've gotten it to be as good as it's going to get. I've now downloaded the upgrade to the latest version and followed your instructions, Jan. It still isn't perfect, because much of the generalized Skype text apparently can't be changed, but the good news for me, is that the IM text CAN, so IMs are now easily readable, as I've been able to increase them to a size 12 font. This is Heaven!!!

Are you using Skype with Vista there?
I note my Vista computer Skype Version is 5.1.0.112. No updates apparently available there - yet!
My Win 7 computer Skype Version as per the topic of this thread.

Yes, I'm using Skype with Vista, and I was able to update to version 5.3.0.108 by using the update mechanism available internally within my Skype app (rather than downloading it from www.Skype.com). Thanks again for your help, Jan! (And thanks to you too, zigzag!)

There also seems to be some issue with certain types of font sets. What families (of fonts) are giving you grief?

There may be a generic that might be able to be shoe horned into skype. I have a eye problem so am constantly tinkering with fonts, kerning, and anything else to get it readable for the amount of posts I read daily.

It isn't the "type" of font that's giving me grief. It's the fact that the only font size I was able to increase is the font used for IMs. All of the other text that exists everywhere else in Skype is still very tiny and almost unreadable for me. I am grateful that I can now, at least, read the IMs comfortably, but everything else causes major eye strain.
