I'm finding the beta driver 190.15 is significantly better than 186.18 in gameplay.

Both are making 3DVantage error tho. I say erro, it runs but at less than half the usual frame rate and looks like its in 3d with the primary colours echoed on the sprites. Seems to much of a coincidence not be be something to do with the drivers. When the program starts it exits Aero

Using 64bit 7232.

I seem to have problems after trying to upgrade to the new official drivers which I think is because of installing that driver, some error comes up at start like problems starting nvcp something or other.

My install of the 186:18 hung or barely progressed over about 45mins!

Just in case anyone else has this issue - I just let it complete - (tempted to abort a lot) - finally it did complete.

No request for a restart, I don't remember that b4.

All seems just fine.

I have had that with the last 3 updates including 190.15, personally I don't feel like it's completed unless I do.

confirmed bsod's with the h4xord 190 driver on x86 (win 7 & XP)
installed the 186.xx drivers fixed it. trying to run a game, and beep! MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION ..blah blah blah.. nv4_disp.dll (nvidia driver)

I'd recommend anyone using the modified 190 driver to switch to the offical to avoid problems in the future.

Same here and they seem good. Not showing in either EVGA precision or RivaTuner though.

I have been running the 190s for 3 days now with not a single hitch, all games run better and wei has gone up by 2. Must be dependent on your hardware.

Could be certain cards. i first noticed it yesterday, when i was playing that tile game, and when i'd get a match it would stall for a brief moment. then on XP is was just watching the internet do it's thing (this site actually) and beep. idk, it hasn't happened since i installed the 186 drivers. :huh:

Is anyone else noticing no 1440x900 resolution in all the latest nVidia drivers?!? I've tried 185 variants and 186 variants and neither have that resolution! Closest is 1600x900.

Had to revert back to 182.50 to get the resolution back!

This is happening to me on Win Vista and 7.

I just installed the 186.18 drivers without incident. This has to be the first time in all the years I've used computers that a video driver update did not require a reboot - amazing. I rebooted anyway just to be sure WEI did not change. 186.18 is stable so far.

Yeah your right. It must be certain cards and also certain set ups. That's also why some people have problems with other instances of windows 7 too.

since 185 BETA the installs no longer require a restart. I don't feel right til i do tho, but Nvidia says it's no longer needed.. whatever. half my problems are usually nvidia.. lol

Do they work with riva tuner?

I have a Palit Sonic+ gf 8600GT and i want to lower fan speed as much as i can (86%). It rotates very very slow, and 99% of time i dont play so its perfect for me.

Please answer me. I dont want to install W7 again, and go back to WinXp within 30min

RivaTuner doesn't recognise the latest Nvidia drivers- maybe I need to update it but I don't think so.
However I've found that EVGA Precision works fine and allows me to control my fan speed, overclock (I don't myself) monitor my temps etc.
The only thing is don't download it from the EVGA site as they ask about your card details and I don't have an EVGA card. I got it from FileHippo or CNet or some such software site.
It works very well with my XFX card and previusly with a BFG card so it seems to work with any brand.

This is happening to me on Win Vista and 7.

My screen is 1440x900 and every Nvidia driver (for both Vista and now Win7) for the past 2 years has worked perfectly for my resolution. Then again I've only ever used 64-bit because 32-bit has been dead since 2007.
