will a clean install be required, a) to upgrade from RC and b) to upgrade Vista?
Hmm... what about buying a Vista upgrade and then a 7 upgrade? That might be cheaper than buying 7 outright.

YES and NO. You can CLEAN install Vista from any UPGRADE Disk with out a KEY, it gives you FULL Function for 27 days, then notice to UPGRADE with KEY. You use the same DISK (per instructions MS page 4 manual) to upgrade and this time use the Provided KEY.Can you do a clean install of the upgrade version if you have XP? Or do you need to have a Vista key?
With all the problems upgrade cause, it would be worth the few bucks to have a retail copy of 7. Even if you plan to do clean installs with the upgrades. A new retail copy of 7 would be well worth the prevented headaches.![]()

to make things faster. when installed turnoff the upgrades. then manually go to MS site, DL and install SP2. Now your 100% ready to use your Windows 7 UPGRADE Disk to Upgrade.
