I found a lot of articles on how to gain full control over a registry key but nothing worked for me. So guys can you help Me?

Hello Juman,

What registry key (full path) are you trying to take ownership of? There are some that you should not mess with.

If you are logged in an administrator account, then you might see if doing step 3 in Option Two of METHOD TWO in the tutorial below to take ownership and "Allow" your user account "Full Control" of the key may be able to.

I agree with MM - What are you doing and What Registry Key are you planning on Editing Permissions for?

Also What User account are you? Standard, Administrator or Built In?

i am trying to make a app which can customize the command bar. for which i need to Access certain registry keys which i don't have permission. so i want to get the permission by a script or command line.

What is the Registry Path that the App wants to edit?

Eg:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform

ok here. i need to grant the user full control with a script or command line

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{323CA680-C24D-4099-B94D-446DD2D7249E}\DefaultIcon

I do not have that Directory in my Registry so it was created by a 3rd Party app

Dude remove the DefaultIcon and see it is a system key(Meaning it exists by Default)

See that Tut by Brink. i got the key from there and i didn't get the app from a place i am Trying to Develop it.
