My wife's Acer Laptop is experiencing very slow Internet speeds with both Wired and Wireless connection.
It is setup through a TP-link WR1043ND router to a Docsis3 router to a cable connection.
I have tried wireless and wired using the supplied Nic's and have trie a USB Gigabit wired router and they ALL seem to run at about the same speed (see attachment) and my desktop (a more powerful machine) runs at FIVE times the speed (see Attachment).
Any ideas as to what the bottleneck could be?

Hi Brian.
As wireless connections are subject to "n" possibilities of jammers and taking into account the specifications of the chip, I believe that is within the "acceptable". Your Gigabyte, for example, has a Realtek 8111C ( 10/100/1000 Mbit ) network chip, which is great. You gave me the chipset of the laptop, not the network chip... It's a 10/100 Fast Ethernet, but I don't know its chip brand yet...

From looking up the laptop on the Internet, it seems this WiFi card is an Atheros AR5007EG. Drivers can be found here: ATHEROS Wireless drivers for Windows

He might still try to update it, I had the same problem on an Acer Aspire 3680, where the driver was limiting the connection speed and affecting the wireless communication.

I have tried updating the drivers with no improvement.
The USB wired gigabit Dongle should have made some improvement, it does not rely on the installed Nic or chipset.
