Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver? A huge 37.1 GB!??!?

I have a Presario CQ61 Laptop. Compaq.

I was trying to clear some memory to make my laptop faster...and I found the Driver was the biggest. Do I really need this Accelerator? 37.1GB is HUGE!?
I can send you a photo if you want PROOF?
I can't install it? I click uninstall and nothing happens?
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium.

By "clear some memory", I guess you are trying to make some room on your hard drive?

The driver you're talking about is for your display. why do you want to remove it?

If it's a single file it may be the installer. No single part of any graphic driver set should be anywhere near that large, but the installers can be (nvidias is about 100 meg!)

So if you want to get rid of the installer that should be fine... What is the file name that is that large exactly?

Yes that is insanely huge, like I said that is your display driver.

That is listed in programs and features right?

Do you have a 32 or 64 bit version of Home Premium?

Yes that is insanely huge, like I said that is your display driver.

I have a Compaq Presario CQ61-360SA Notebook PC. And yes it is 64-bit home premium. Also it is listed in the programs and features yes.

Printscreening will most definitely help you
It is in my program file (x86)

It doesn't show 37.1GB?

So I'm not sure what to do?
If I uninstall will I need to download another driver?

Yes if you uninstall it you will need another driver if you want to see your display.

And select properties, how much space is listed?

No, sorry I wasn't asking you to printscreen. I was just saying my print screens may be some help to you

OK, yes you're right your printscreens do help.

I wonder if windows is reporting it incorrectly, can you install one of these to see if it actually is taking up that much space.

How big is your hard drive?

Something could be wrong with your disk. The driver for my desktop is about a 63Mb download. Man, I have a CAD system I just downloaded and it was 520Mb. I wouldn't delete it until you find out if your disk indexes are correct. Deleting that file could wipe out a lot of good stuff.

I don't see what the problem is? 30MB for a graphics driver is tiny.

The 11.5 AMD/ATI drivers are 85GB's and the 275.33 nvidia drivers are 134MB.

His are listed as 37GB's not MB's.

Well it's not just the driver then... taking another look (this time paying attention), I see his adobe reader is 700MB.

That's a start, if you fill them out like it says in the link I gave you, it will be visible in each of your posts.

That doesn't answer what size hard drive you have either.

And what about the disc space tool?

It will give you a graph of what is using your disc space like this.
