Could someone please tell me how to save a snapshot from video using windows live movie maker as a .jpg file type. I get option only to save as PNG image. Thanks.

save it as a .png
then load it into MSPaint and "Save as.." a .jpg..

- well, that's one way to do it..:)

PS: you can adjust the picture in paint, as well - before you Save as..

A " round about ".....
Save the png to a folder > go to that folder, right click at the png > Open With > choose Paint, or if you have a 3rd party editor such as SnagIt > Save As > Save as type > select jpg.

By using Rename option, it does not change the file size. The "renamed" jpg remains the same file size as its png counterpart.

By really converting png to jpg, the files size is reduced to at least 1/4 of the png size.

The OP asks for saving a snapshot in jpg file type. Not to disguise it as such.
