Looking through your window
I think im the only one who has this problem but i want to add space to my USB drive which is only 480mb and I went to Disk Management and sliced some space off my Hard drive to put onto the USB but when I right click on it the option 'extend' is blanked out! By the way I want to add space, not overwrite but if that what it takes then I will do it:

Welcome to the windows 7 forums.

Disk Management is designed to add/modify partition space on fixed disks on your computer.
Sorry but adding more space to a usb drive is not within it's options. Only the manufacturer of your usb drive can accomplish that.

I have dos 6.22, wfwg 3.11, win98, 2000 and xp VHD's available for testing. MS's Virtual PC works great.
I don't think that's possible, but I could be wrong. The drive's capacity is the drive's capacity. Partitioning a portion of your PC's HD doesn't change the hardware inside your external drive.

Ok thanks for the replies but do you think there is any software to do that?

No, see the problem is you're misinterpreting the nature of physical memory. You computer has apx 75 GB of memory, you can partition that into many slices, but the total will never be more than 75 GB. The USB drive is a separate chip with about 500MB of memory. No matter what the USB can never hold more than that.

You cannot add hard drive space to a USB drive.

If you want more USB drive space, you'll need to buy a larger USB stick.
