Cool its pretty nice. It is very fast. But I am surprised my ram scores so low. Also I know this is random but are virtual cores just as good as real cores?

Let me ask something.

My MOBO has USB 3.0 ports, but there's nothing nowadays that can use all that bandwidth, or is there?

5gbps is a little too much, most trasnfers here are 100MB/s at most.

My MOBO has USB 3.0 ports, but there's nothing nowadays that can use all that bandwidth, or is there?

5gbps is a little too much, most trasnfers here are 100MB/s at most.

There is a little more to usb3 than just speeds, here's a little info I dragged off the net-

A number of changes have been implemented in USB 3.0 to satisfy the increased demands of external devices. Here is a quick USB technology overview:

Transfer Rate
This new SuperSpeed interface provides realistic transfer rates of around 3,200 Mbits/s or 3.2 Gbits/s. The theoretical top signaling rate is at 4.8 Gbits/s.

Data Transfer
USB 3.0 introduces full duplex data transfer. Two of five lanes are reserved for transmitting data, while another pair is dedicated to receiving data, meaning that USB 3.0 can read and write data simultaneously at full speed. Previous USB specifications did not support bi-directional data transfer.

Power
The unit load has been increased to 150 mA and a configured device can draw up to six unit loads, which adds up to 900 mA. This exceeds USB 2.0 by 80% and leads to faster recharging or powering of more than four devices from a single hub. In addition, the minimum device operating voltage was dropped from 4.4 V to 4 V, which saves energy.

Power Management
USB 3.0 suspends device polling, which is replaced by interrupt-driven protocol. As a result, idle devices won’t experience a power drain since a signal from the device is required to initiate data transfer. With USB 2.0 the host controller used to look for active transfers, slowly draining power. Briefly, USB 3.0 supports idle, sleep, and suspend states, as well as link-, device-, and function-level power management (Wikipedia).

Thanks for the info.

But I think there won't be any devices transfering at 4.8gbps anytime soon.

Biggles, I have 4 SSDs. I run the OS and programs from the SSD and put all user files on a traditional hard drive. I don't game, but most gamers put their games on a traditional hard drive. It would depend on how many games you have, if there is space on the SSD you could put them there, but can also put them on the data drive.

An SSD will boost your disk scores and help with your restart times. However, I don't believe a raid array will be necessary unless you just want one. I have an SSD for my OS and programs and all user files are on a WD 1TB FAEX. You will not notice any difference in response times for your user files. But, as long as you have everything load at startup you will still have slower restart times. With an SSD restart will be much faster but still slower than optimum. Also, with an SSD it is not necessary to load everything at startup. The SSD will open them as needed almost instantly.

Update: Now this is epic. The reason I bought this GTX 560Ti to begin with is because I heard they OC so well they perform as well as GTX 570's. These things are just....epic. I managed, with very little Voltage increase, to reach GTX 570 scores in 3DMark11 and Unigine Heaven benchmarks! I saved 'exactly' $103!

Amazing, 7.9's with a $230 card, which is meant to be entry to the mainstream. Nv really nailed it with these cards.

Note: I was actually able to reach 1Ghz on the core and 2Ghz on the Shader clock with 1.11 VDDC, perfectly stable and no cooling issues! Though I backed off because it just wasn't necessary. This is my office rig, just wanted to be able to game on it.

Totally agree with you, overclocks like a dream!

I think it hits 7.9 wei at around 950mhz, had mine up to 1ghz but like you backed it down as not needed right now.

I seem to have had issues with mine playing Dirt3 but after alot of messing around it now appears to be working fine with some older drivers.

Great card!

I've got to say, I am rather happy with my desktops scores atm (though it would have been nice for those pesky 7.8's to hit 7.9 - That's just the OCD talking ha).

I've got to say, I am rather happy with my desktops scores atm (though it would have been nice for those pesky 7.8's to hit 7.9 - That's just the OCD talking ha).

Great scores. With scores like that, I wouldn't worry about the 7.8's.
