Eset NOD 32v4 or Microsoft Security Essentials

use at own risk

maybe those that are using eset can help me out. I was trying to create a rescue disc in eset and noticed the following on their web site:

I'm running windows 7 64-bit as well as the 64-bit version of eset nod32. So if above is the case, what are 64-bit people supposed to do and why include this feature in your 64-bit software that can't work anyway?

i get a message when eset boots up. It is "there is a known compatibilty issue" but i run it anyway. I get the daily upgrades. Etc i would think that as soon as windows7 is officially released to manufacture ( rtm) there will be a slew of upgrades for eset and many others

i AM USING ESET NOD32 VERSION 3.0.669 AND THE MESSAGE SIMPLY STATES THAT THERE ARE KNOWN COMPATIBILTY ISSUES . IT THEN GIVES ME 3 OPTIONS.1 CONTACT ESET; 2 RUN; 3 CANCEL..I RUN AND GET THE GREEN EYEBALL AND THEN i GET THE DAYS UPGRADES. BTW I NEVER SAW ANY OPPORTUNITY TO CREATE A RESCUE DISK AND I HAVE BEEN USING ESET FOR CLOSE TO 3 YEARS.

Yup. I was able to do this a while ago. Another reason to love ESET: software upgrades included with your subscription, along with pick-and-choose your platform. :)

With Symantec and others: "oh, you need to buy the Y upgrade because you have X version" b.s.

Nod32 has been around for a long time. No doubt it's better than anything Microsoft has to offer.

On a side note, we don't want everyone using this antivirus product made by Microsoft (as if that would ever happen). If everyone used the same antivirus product, everyone would have the same virus signatures and likely would also get infected by the same virus.

Hah well put :) But yea, I'd stick with ESET's NOD32, or ESET's s\Smart Security. Never hut me :)
