I got my computer back a few weeks ago from HP and installed all the windows updates because it had the hdd replaced. For a while after it was unbearably slow, way worse than how I sent it in. I couldn't figure out for the life of me what it was, I monitored the task manager for programs using alot of memory but nothing was unusual.
I couldn't even watch one youtube video, before I could have 30 tabs open streaming 3 shows while torrenting and working on MS Word.
I finally called HP which proved to be no help because once they determined it wasn't the harddrive, they wouldn't help further. I decided to just run a full system recovery, after backing up my files. I did that, suspecting windows updates were causing the problem. Turns out I was right, now currently running 19 percent CPU as before it was always around 90 percent.
Basically now I have no windows updates installed, and don't know what to do now? Should I just not install them? I'm afraid I will be in a bad spot for security if I remain with it this way.
Any ideas would be great, thanks all.
