Critical Error: ID 41 Kernel-Power when playing games

I have been having random restarts, only while playing games, so it seems like it is a RAM issue. When I built my computer about a week ago, it wouldn't let me install Windows seven with all three sticks of ram that I bought in there. I took one out, and it let me install. I haven't put the ram back in yet because of the issues I have been having. It happens when I play Fallout New Vegas, Killing Floor and League of Legends, I am sure it would happen with any game, and that it isn't an isolated occurrence with those three games.

I have already done a lot of research, and attempts to find the issue, but I wonder if anyone on here knows the exact problem.

I also do not get a BSOD when this happens. I turned on do not automatically shut down, and it still does, well, rather it restarts and then asks if I want to start in safe mode.

Have you enabled minidumps?

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and which one was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.


To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

Thanks, for some reason it was checked to restart.... I could have swore I unchecked that earlier this week. Next time it crashes I will upload the files. Thanks.

So, two times now has the error occurred. My comp froze up and sound was coming out of the speakers like a really fast repetition of a single second of sound, when this happens I have to force a restart instead of it automatically restarting. Every time I try to access the minidumps it says windows can't find C:\Windows\Minidump, check spelling and try again...

It finally restarted without freezing and there is no minidump even though I activated the minidump. It also restarted even though I checked the box that said do not restart.

There are several ways to find what the problem is. The best is to go into event viewer (type eventvwr in search). Event viewer (local) and look for the critical errors listed in the last day, week, etc. Then go to the windows log>application tab. Finally the windows Logs>system tabs.

You want to look for critical errors (they have red in the left column ).

When you find them you want to look for critical errors that say app hang, app crash, or anything that relates to the problem.

When you find them please note the event ID, and the source codes and tell us what they are.
