Solved PC powers back on a few seconds after I "Shut down"

When you get ready to shutdown, then:
WIN | type SHUTDOWN /S /T 10 | ENTER

WIN is the key with the wavy microsoft flag on top.

I will try this later...but to clarify, when i press the windows key, it opens the Start menu search. Is that where you mean? Sounds more like a Run command to me. I don't want to try it because I'm backing up right now.

What do you mean by this? I had no idea I was supposed to take my power supply out and service it.

He was referring to automobile engines - of course there's no "regular, frequent servicing" with power supplies.

(But do keep the exhaust vent dust-free.)

By all means, don't interrupt a backup for hell or high water.

After the backup is finished, then just follow my directions as written and sit back in awe and wonder. (OK, that wasn't necessary but I'm not good at hand-holding.)
