As I say, I tried twice, and trying to install over old version not only didn't give me the new version, it broke the old version and removed all uninstaller links. A Guy

Just posted a reply in the free apps re the Seagate Discwizard it has a fair few apps and I'm going to try that clone one - and it's powered by Acronis and free.

Do they also include the Microsoft Preinstall Envinroment v3 to restore the backup images that have been made for Win 7?

Hi Guys,

We have resumed the updates again as some of you may have already noticed. Because of the update errors you faced yesterday, we have made a 2 stage update today to provide you a safe upgrade path.

If you are a CIS 5.5 user, you will get an initial update which updates the program updater. After the restart, this new updater will be able to smootly update your software to CIS 5.8.

CIS 5.8.x.2124 users will also need to get an update because of the changes we made in the updating mechnism. While updating you guys to build 2131, we have included 2 simple fixes as well. Pls check the initial post for more information.

No. But you can disable it if you are using Windows Firewall and you can just uninstall your third party firewall if you plan to use Comodo. You should only use one firewall in your PC as recommended by the experts in this forum...

Yeah Necroticis right mate onlly one firewall and as a general rule for any but the foolhardy (in my mind) only one AV or net suite at a time with an exception for Malwarebytes (free version only) and untick this setting as per pic so it doesn't interfere with your suite - well my KIS goes ape if I leave it ticked lol!!

It's screwed up. No way can I update. It says updates available, as soon as I click continue, it immediately says restart, and that will loop over as many times as I would do it. It never changes. I uninstalled, and ran the new installer. It crashed my PC and I had to run startup repair which removed all my customizations. So screw it, I put my last image back on, and I'll look into it again later. If they ever fix it. A Guy

I try it with optimism each time they release a new version, but I am always disappointed one way or the other. I'm not so sure I'll try it again.

Finally got it. Read that thread and this post had the answer:

Copied cfpupdat.exe from the repair folder, and put it in the main folder, clicked on update, and it finally updated! yea!

I like the new improvements Firstly the updater itself is a welcomed upgrade, especially the quick install of updates once downloaded. The default interface theme itself is ok. The software (I'm running firewall and D+ only) it does seem its lost a bit of weight responding a little quicker.

Yeah A Guy if you are using that forum (I do) it's a great spot for sorting your probs out as I asked in that thread why the extremely long update - wondered what the heck was going on

Only thing is the replies are not so fast as 7 & 8 and I wished they had kept the red GUI
