So I have had BSOD troubles since upgrading this computer and have sent the computer back to the store so many times and I need help debugging to make sure it is not a driver/software and it is hardware. I am determined to solve this problem as it is driving me insane. I have read so many posts trying to do it myself but I really need help.

Anyway, here goes - BTW I really don't know what I am doing....

I ran MEMTEST a few weeks ago and there was no errors.

I have blue screenview and there are a lots of bsod relating to mainly ntkrnlpa.exe and usbport.sys but there are also wdf01000, klif.sys (Kaspersky), ntfs.sys, ataport.sys, dxgmms1.sys, dxgkrnl.sys, halmacpi, ndis.sys, netr28u, nsiproxy.sys

Okay so the first step hopefully is to get rid of ntkrnlpa.exe and usbport.sys! Any suggestions... I have ran driver verifier and it says that 3 devices are outdated on my system ATK0110 ACPI UTILITY and NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT Display adapters however the version details that are installed are currently the version that they suggest to update to (ie the driver age is old not ancient).

I am currently running scannow.

Any suggestions, please help me, no one else to ask!!

Thanks in anticipation!
Deebee.

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

I ran Memtest for an afternoon. Actually I did read somewhere you should do it overnight or even 7 passes or something. I will do this tonight. Thanks for the heads up. Will let you know tomorrow.

So I ran memtest again overnight and it failed. I am now testing the different memory cards and they both seem to be failing.... as it is intermittent sometimes they fail, sometimes they don't, and I am just confirming this now. So I have done a bit of reading and it could be either motherboard failure, memory timing settings are too aggressive or Ram is not compatible with motherboard. Is this correct? So what is the next step to determine which factor it is and to throw the computer back at the supplier as to what is wrong and that they need to fix it. Furthermore, should it have been crashing therefore since I got the computer or after I started loading programs onto the empty hard drive.

Cheers,
Deebee

With all the failing devices, this is sounding like a MB problem. If it were me I'd RMA the whole unit, and ask for a replacement ... This is just too many problems for a new machine... Good luck, and let us know how it comes out... ;)
