Ok, I did event viewer and and under applications I didn't get anything critical, just warnings. Most of the warnings (3) were evend id 3036 and the souce was "search". The other warnings were event ids 1530 and 1008 and the sources were "user profile service" and "search" respectively. Im gonna assume these aren't very helpful in solving my problem. But I dug a little deeper into event viewer and went over to the system tab and there I found a number of critical errors. All the errors had evevent id 41 and source code "kernal power". Im no expert but am I safe in saying that this means im going to need to get a new power supply? After all, my specs are as follows
Asus 990fx crosshair V (all sata ports are 6gb/s)
Amd fx-8120
Msi gtx 560 ti
g.skill sniper ram 8gb, 2 dimms
2 hdds, 250gb and 1 tb (both 3gb/s)
multiple fans
And then I have just a 550 watt power supply to run all that. I was worried that may be an issue. I've already ordered a new 850 wat power supply and a 6 gb/s hdd so that it'll match the sata ports on my mobo (shouldn't matter tho, 6gb/s ports are backwards compatible, aren't they?) I just have a few questions, is the power supply really my problem here? And will that new power supply be enough if I decide to sli with another 560 ti in the future?
