Unofficial bug list on the 1.2 patch release

This is a list of all the reported bugs encountered since updating the game to 1.2 patch.

Killing a dragon nets a bounty???

Weird one....

I was near the city of Windhelm when I encountered a dragon. After exhausting numerous health potions (remember, patch 1.2 broke resistance items - frost, fire, etc) I was finally able to kill it.

Well all went well there, no issues with it not burning up and giving up it's soul, it didn't fly backwards, or run away from me. Anyway I collect it's bones and decide to sell them in Windhelm....

As I approach the city gates all of a sudden the guards are all hostile and start attacking me for no reason - hmmm.... there was no one around when I killed the dragon so no friendly fire. WTF.

Hmmm.... reload where I killed the dragon, go back to the city same thing. What??? For some odd reason I look at my states to see If I committed a crime and notice I have a 1400 bounty on me. Huh????

Check my previous save which was in Solitude, no bounty. Hmmm.... don't know what happened but I used the Solitude save and fast forwarded like I did before, but this time no dragon was encountered, no bounties, and guards are good with me

Needless to say I lost a dragon kill, but hey, at least the bounty was lifted :sarc:

Oh, I did get a CTD after that whole ordeal

What a crock.

Patch did mess it up. Dragon kills me in one shot now. Taking me several tries with every potion I can muster just to barely kill the same type of dragon it would be easy to pre-patch.

I think it's the overall strength of the player has been greatly diminished, not just the resistance pieces (armor, jewelry, potions)

Wish I hadn't of let it auto update.


Watch them say when they're ready to fix it - sorry, you have to start a new game to get it fixed.

Yeah seems the dragons have summoned an ally in the form of a patch :sarc:

I used to be able to kill a dragon on one health round, and it usually never went below 50 percent; now I need like 20 health and magic potions just to say hi to it thanks to my weakened character. Thanks Bethesda

Watch them say when they're ready to fix it - sorry, you have to start a new game to get it fixed.

If it has been answered already and I missed it, sorry ..

But Im curious if these issues will affect a new character as well, or just some form of bug that only shows up on a previous saved character.
Maybe a Pre-Patch save triggers it all.

Airbots comment made me think perhaps thats the issue, and they didnt catch it before putting it out live.

I deleted my previous messige, cause there i said i like this patch, and it works and bla bla bla... I got 2 CTD's in under an hour, and even the mounted animals are purple!!

So, does anyone have news on a new patch, that will ix this patch?

And why do the dragons always seem to insist on attacking when you're already at your carry capacity?

Luckily I'm high enough that I can withstand a dragon attack pretty well with no magica protection. Though last night, AFTER patch, I killed a dragon (2 actually) and one of them did NOT burn.. just like before the patch. And it happened in the same way as previous ones: If you kill a dragon on a slope, he may never stop twitching due to the physics engine and if it doesn't stop twitching it doesn't burn. So the patch didn't even fix that

It also killed my smithing improvement add-on (Actually the came would hang infinitely at the start screen if it was enabled), but I won't complain too hard about that. It's not really possible for them to be adding in every one of the already hundreds of add-ons to ensure it doesn't break anything.

Otherwise, for my character, the patch didn't seem to affect anything else.

Not sure how to answer your question other than to say that for many of us starting all over is not an option as most are only partway or halfway through the game.

I'll guess and say it doesn't matter whether you start a new game today, or have been playing from the beginning; the issues are going to be the same.

Hopefully Airbot's comment about starting over when a new patch fixes this patch is just a joke, but you never know

For some reason I seem to lag inside Whiterun, is it something you also do?

I get some lag in whiterun myself, just a tiny bit but I have pushed the draw distances to the very edge of what my card can handle. I think whiterun may be one of the "worst" places for amount of material to load/render. The lag happens when turning or raising/lowering the camera so it's probably related to texture/object loading.

Probably yes, I thought I lagged outside too but I realized I stepped on a stone, lol.

It seems the bugs come and go, previously i played for an hour, and got two CTD's, now i played for 3-4hours and everything was perfect. no problems at all...

Yeah I had two CTDs in 4 hours of playing last night :/ same rate as before. Patch didn't fix that either. Those kinds of bugs are really random...

Are you guys running Skyrim with Antialiasing and Anisotropic Filtering on or off? Taking it off seems to have removed the lag at random places. Even-though you have a high-end card. (I have GTX 560 ti).

All on at 8x and 8x. I hate all the pixel shimmer you get with them off. But yeah those features, the AA especially are frame rate eaters to be sure.
