Intel HD Graphics Indescrepancies 32-64 bit O/S

Heres my quandry, i have a Toshiba R700 laptop running an Intel based cpu and chipset

specifically its a QM57 chipset running a first gen core i5 560M CPU and Intel HD Graphics

the problem i have is since swapping out to an SSD and 64 bit windows install my WEI scores for graphics have dropped? the only difference i can see in the two installs is that the 64 bit system uses obviously the 64 bit version of the graphics driver according to dxdiag. the driver version is identical

Aero goes from 4.3 down to 4.2

3D goes from 5.3 right down to 4.9

my results for CPU also increase under 64 bit

it goes from 6.6 upto 6.9

so my question is, does the 64 bit architechture give more to CPU, and by thereby 'unleashing' the full capabilities of the CPU is it affecting the graphics resources to the worse?

any input, explanation much appreciated. there are no issues with this at all, laptop still runs fine, i'm just interested is all!!

cpu increase is to be expected because of the increased bit width. I can't think of any reason for the graphics to decrease like that though. The only thing that really comes to mind right now is that windows loads a hell of a lot more into memory for 64 than it does for 32. It's possible you are just running up against a memory barrier of some sort.

...thinking it out that's the only explanation I can come up with.
Fortunately the change isn't drastic I doubt it'll even be noticeable in use.

First the WEI doesnt mean a thing. If you performce is the same ignore it.

Second WEI is a comparison of your equipment to a data base of hardware and a number assigned. May just be that the data set for 64bit is higher than 32 and since your hardware is the same, the bsolute number may be slightly reduced.

If you are concerned I wold download a benchmark utility to run and compare.

i realise the WEI is a bit of a gimmick, but its showing a difference, thats what i was interested in, not absolute numbers, i couldnt care less if i run a 1.0 or a 7.9, its just the change i wanted to know the reasoning for!

and thanks for that answer, i can see thats probably the reasoning, 64-bit requires more oomph, so its showing my graphics as worse on a comparison to higher specs required for 64-bit. the goalposts have moved so to speak and i'm left standing!lol!

thanks for the input guys! any specific GPU testing benchmarks you recommend, free preferably, i'd like to investigate further but am not so interested as to wanting to pay for the privelage

Below is a screenshot of the graphics portion results, which I pasted into Excel.

The middle column is an Intel i-5 2500 using integrated Intel HD 2000 graphics on a 64-bit installation.
