Solved Is my graphics card good enough for Shogun 2?

Hey, i want to know if my graphics card is good enough to run shogun 2, if it isnt which graphics card would you recommend (can't be too expensive).
Heres my graphics card : EVGA Geforce 8600 GT 1024 Mbs.
Heres my MOBO: Gigabyte - GA-MA785GM-US2H

Yep you should be good. You might not be able to run all the settings on high for graphics but you should get reasonable frame rates.
If have at least 250-350 budget you could get a very good video card and that would help even more. Especially with all the great games that should be coming out through out 2012.

Hmmm really?? I used Can You Run It? and it said my graphics card wasn't good enough.

Well I based it off the minimum specs here. Shogun 2: Total War System Requirements and Shogun 2: Total War requirements for PC Games
And you have the minimum. If it doesn't run than you should consider upgrading the card. Plus that "can you run it" site isn't really that accurate as it is just based of spec lists against what you have installed. It doesn't actually measure performance.

Ok.. this may sound cheap..... around 25-75 dollars? I Prefer ATI, since that's what it says on my Mobo Box XD

Sorry, but with that budget you're not going to get much better performing card than what you have already. I would save a little more and then upgrade. Have you actually tried to run the game on your current card. I would do that first and see if you really need to upgrade.
You're current card cost well over $150 when they came out.

No, you need the hardware to support DX11.

If you look at the minimum specs you can run on DX9. So no that shouldn't be the reason. I just ran it on mine. Can you post a image of your results?

Even I can't get into the recommended. You'd need to upgrade the whole pc to get it there. That recommended is more like really high end gaming rig. So you'd need fastest cpu, GPU, ram, etc. Most of us can't afford that.

Likely due to your dual core CPU.

Xnefoo the 8600 GT was barely mid range when it came out, the 8600 GTS was a nusch better cars. All things considering with where games are going today you would be better served looking at upgrading your video card.

Oh yeah, many of the games I've been playing max out my cpu. I wish I could upgrade, but I need employment first. That's my main bottleneck. My games definintely tax my poor cpu.
