So, I know I'm so very late to the Skyrim party, but where is the path to High Hothgar? Everywhere I have tried so far never leads me there, and I really don't feel like scaling the mountain, as in not on a path, because it rarely works for me.

Theres a little town at the bottom of the mountain. From there, the path going up is just across from the bridge.

You'll see memorial markers along the way up, and a few people making offerings/meditating etc.

Is it really randomly? Or maybe when entering certain areas repeatedly?

Did you try the 1.4 beta patch?

I guess it's time for the old "Find the best drivers for the game your playing at this moment" dance...

i haven't experienced any crashes so far and i'm on 1.4 patch ,btw fyi i'm using a amd card. I only get a couple stutters in some parts of the map or random spike in fps for 2 secs once in a while

No im with my "old" card.

I will have the new one on Friday.

That's the one. I knew it had a 'stead' in it at least.

I went there, and I couldn't figure out where the path to High Hrothgar is. I took the one that is beyond town a little bit and I ended up in Helgen.

That is what was happening to me, CTDs start one day, then very quickly grow and grow into more and more areas til the game is unlayable. 1.4 has so far seemingly fixed it.

panias, what I would try if this just started, is delete the Skyrim.ini and Skyrimprefs.ini in your My Documents folder. (probably not needed but I alwayd do on Bethseda games)

Then run a integrety file check on the game through Steam.

You'll have to reset your graphics options when you launch the game the next time, but it shouldnt take but a couple seconds to set it back up.

Hopefully that'll help you. Ive found with Steam, the file integrety check fixes most issues.


Oddly, my Left 4 Dead 2 game was doing that a while back. Started and played fine, then would just dump you back to the desktop without warning or error. Apparently there was 1 file that needed to redownload and it was fine after that.

No new items or quests, but when 1.4 is released (hopefully very soon) supposedly the construction kit will then be released too.

THEN new (user created) content will start showing up in droves...

I went there, and I couldn't figure out where the path to High Hrothgar is. I took the one that is beyond town a little bit and I ended up in Helgen.

You have to go NE I think, past the lumber mill and cabbage patch. There's a big bridge on your first left that leads to a couple of guys talking. One of them asks you to deliver some supplies to High Hrothgar. Accept the quest and just go up the steps from there. There's a couple of trolls, wolves etc. so you need to be careful.
