I just started a new game and doing some heavy modding now.
Lotys of Textures packs and a mix of a few Gameplay changes, as well as UI changes.
The changes so far makes Skyrim feel a lot different.More of a a hardcore mode now.
But some major changes Ive done ..
There is no compass. So no red dots or symboyls to give anything away about your immediate surrounding. You can read road signs or look at your map if you need to get oriented.
There are no quest markers of any kind on the map any where on the HUD.
All you have to go by is the description you get in you journal and the Map its self which will only show where you are and what you've discovered.
Along with that, the Crosshair is removed and the Sneak Crosshairhair as well (no more eye) Forcing you to be much more carefull and aware of the surroundings.
At first aiming with a bow or magic was difficult for me, but Im slowly learning and getting somewhat better.
Forces you to try and judge distance etc more when making a bow shot
Makes sneaking a lot more challenging, yet more satisfying when you get that long sneak kill.
Actually found my self hanging out back of the Companion hall practicing at times too LOL. Never even thought of it when the crosshairs were there.
Oh, and No fast Travel. The only form of Fast travel is from the rented carriages.
Got a few others as well, Stronger dragons, Stronger traps, Wars in Skyrim etc ...
But those are the main changes that make the game feel alot different, at least to me.
Love SkyUI with the font change too ..
And the Realistic Paper mod (dark) makes reading books soooooo much better. Give it a try
Need a real Needs mod now hmm .....
BTW, any one know when the Creation kit comes out or is it already?
@fseal .. that place you refer to I found cool, but at the same time somewhat disappointing.
I mean they were literally everywhere. Seems like I filled my bags with them

I too agree, certainly grab Azuras Star. One of the best gadgets for recharging your weapons.
