Restart your computer. Start taping on the F10 key. This should take you directly to System Recovery. Just keep selecting Recovery when prompted. Reinstall Windows to factory state.
I believe this is what your asking for...correct?

Dear Tyi469,
Now that you are at Command Prompt, the best command you can give is
sfc /scannow

This will automatically scan and repair even the protected windows OS!

regards,
sree

If your not entering the Recovery Manager window, you might not have a Recovery Partition on your HDD. In this case, you'll need Windows 7 Recovery software. Is your computer a Sony?

Hi Greg, yep to your question re f8, system is currently recovering as i write, the recovery thing (hope u can keep up with all my big words ;), anyways it created a restore disk from vaio, which rocked. So far so good.
I am eternally greatful to all who replied!!! Seriously, your better thAn the microsoft website, spent hours there to no avail!!! And if your prob isnt an easy fix, theres allways a fee. Like Gates needs money!!! Cripes!!
Again you rock & i will refer u to as many people as i can on this planet!!
Grateful 4 ever,
Diane

Wow! That will surely keep him busy. LOL Hope he's an advance user in order to comprehend all those steps.

Every step has a blue link to an illustrated tutorial. You can post back any questions to get further information.

Exactly what is hard to comprehend, quickdraw, so I can improve it?

Just seems a bit too much for this guy. Judging by his comments. I was offering a simple solved for his issue. At least I thought, I was. Hey, no doubt your the pro and I'm the rookie here. Thanks, for sharing your knowledge.

Diane -

Are you saying you ran Vaio Factory Recovery? VAIO Computer Recovery Options Guide
Did you boot it using the F10 key as quickdraw suggested earlier?

And the "restore disk" you say it made is this to back up your data or did it burn Recovery to a disk to boot and run? It's a good idea to have the disks made in case the F10 Recovery should fail.

That was a good guess at F10 there, quickdraw, considering she hadn't posted her System Specs! :geek:

They're not always this easy, and we've helped here with thousands of these.
