I have a Dell that's running XP. They are still great to run programs on that won't run on Windows 7. Also I surf the web on mine a lot. Yes. They are a really good brand. My Acer is 2 years old and the only thing that is failing is the battery, but that is expected since laptop batteries are only good for about 2 years max with heavy use. Also, my brother has an Acer Desktop and my mom has an acer netbook. They have all been very reliable.
