Importance of defraging System Reserved?

Hello to all,
I have recently gone back to using Windows standard defrag. It show that the System Reserved Partition is fragmented. It goes through the motions of defragging, very quickly and the amount of fragmentation stays the same 11%. I am just odd enough to want that defragged on general principles. Could someone explain the importance and if it really would make the machine operate faster to some degree, if it were defragmented. Thanks for you time.

True system reserved needs no defragging. Windows defragger is made to put files in the order best for it. 3rd party defraggers don't do that properly.

Also notice that if you haven't disabled Superfetch, the boot process is also using prefetching from RAM (ReadyBoot), so while defragmenting it *might* help in some very narrow circumstances, it won't be much even if it does.

So the fact that Windows defragger shows 11% fragementation, as the above poster noted, it doesn't matter. I wonder why the Windows defragger goes to the trouble of showing you the fragmentation and analyzing it, but when you try to defragment it does nothing, visible? Thanks for your time and response!

You are officially above my head now. Superfetch, ReadyBoot??? Sounds important. Might you elaborate a bit. In any case thanks for your response and information.
