I'd just run the smart test and the short drive self test. If there are no problems noted, let it go. The other tests can take a long time, and we have no real indication there is anything wrong with them. Same for the seagate test.

Does CPU-Z see it as Dual-Channel now? I know you caught the glitch, but it's always good to double check these things.

For what it's worth, on my last AMD motherboard (MSI) they actually had it wrong in the manual. When I booted it up and saw "Single Channel" during the POST routine I knew something was up.

You're getting some good advice, so pardon the interruption. :)

Yeah. I had registered the board for warranty purposes and about a month after I bought it I got an email telling me to disregard the manual. Fortunately I had already figured it out. :p

DDR stands for Double Data Rate. Take that 400MHz which CPU-Z is showing you and double it - then you've got your 800MHz just fine. :)

Good info and help given already.

If you're still getting any freezes, bump your CPU/NB (Integrated Memory Controller) Voltage +0.050v, this should help the RAM run better.

Better if you first give me the current CPU/NB Voltage setting and the DRAM voltage setting from the BIOS.

What BIOS version are you running?
The last three updates are for system stability, this would indicate a possible BIOS issue.

Good, that's the latest BIOS version.

DRAM voltage is 1.80v?

Change the CPU/NB Voltage to 'Manual', this should give you a voltage number, should be 1.10v.
Let us know.

If it is 1.10v, change it to 1.150v, let us know if it still freezes up.

CPU/NB Voltage is on page 2-16 of your motherboard manual.

Asus M4N78 PRO

In your BIOS select the 'AUTO' it will give you an option for 'Manual'.
If it is 1.10v, change it to 1.150v, then select 'Exit and Save Changes'.

Be careful when entering settings into the BIOS, a mistake can cause your system to crash or damage components.
Especially with Voltage settings, you can burn things up, in this case it would be the CPU.

Yea that would have been bad since i just got it 2 months ago (from a RMA Return)

OK so we have solved 1 of the issues the other issue is the Not Restarting Problem i just get a black screen and my monitor turns of right after the windows Shutting Down Screen its weird it just started happening like 2 weeks ago
