Higher temps are normal, but 95-97 deg centigrade is definitely critical!!
Modern CPU's with stock coolers should be somewhere between 55 and 80 degrees at full load (80 being quite high)
My hottest system (dualcore) reaches a maximum of 57 degrees at 100% load. This is at 22 degrees room temperature.
My coolest system (quadcore) reaches 50 at full load.
I have paid a lot of attention to the fans and airflow, and have picked good designed cases to work with. (Antec)
95 degrees hot air being blown into your case is also damaging to the surrounding electronics, and not to forget, your harddrives etc.
I think there is definitely something wrong with your rig.
Might be lack of airflow, lack of incoming and outgoing air.
And it could also indicate your CPU cooler in not placed level on your CPU.
I've seen a few cases where the cooler body touched the plastic retainer and didn't fully touch the surface of the CPU.
It could also mean the fans are turning to slow.
Anyway, you will definitely have to address this heat problem, because in the long run several parts of the system might get damaged.
good luck.
