How to? XP VM for multiple Win7 users

I need to create a XP VM on a win764 box that has multiple users. I want all the users on the win7 box to use the same VM. I also need it to automatically login to the VM without asking for credentials from win7 or xp. I've turned off integration and done the "control userpasswords2" thing.
When I log in as a new user and start the VM, win7 pops up with a credentials box. Once I enter the username and password and check "remember credentials" it goes fine. I want to eliminate that initial credentials box though.

Thanks,
Travis

Did you look under start-all programs-Windows Virtual PC-Windows XP Mode on all of the user accounts?

Oh I know the passwords, and if I enter the pw it logs right in. The problem is that I dont want it to ask for a password each time a new (win7) user tries to run it.

Go to start and type Windows Virtual PC. Find Windows XP Mode and right click on it. Click on settings. Go to logon credintials. Click on delete saved credentials. Now, start XPMode. Type on your username and password at the prompt and check remember credentials. If all goes well, that will be the last time you see that box.

That works on a per user basis. The computer gets used by many people with domain logins. Each time a new user logs in and clicks on the VM it asks for credentials. Its a win 7 credential box that pops up (they look differnet from xp credential boxes).
I want to eliminate having to do what you describe each time a new user logs in.

I'm sorry, but you can't do that. Even if you could, it breaks the EULA of XPMode. Sorry:(

So the EULA says that each new domain user must enter the same credentials to get into the VM, but as long as they have done it once they dont have to do it again?

That doesnt make sense.

If it makes a difference, this is Win 7 Enterprise.

Also, as stated in my first post, each of the domain users will be accessing the same VM, so its only one instance. From what I can see in the EULA, this is completley fine.

Hi there
the problem is of course that XP (whether it's in XP mode or a HOST on a physical machine or a separate Virtual Machine using vbox / VMware etc is that IT'S A SINGLE USER MACHINE.

(This means that ONLY 1 USER CAN BE LOGGED ON PER SESSION) -- note these can be DIFFERENT users / accounts but when you set the default login then that is for a SPECIFIC user. You aren't breaking the EULA -- you can have 10 zillion users on the machine - but only one at a time.

Since different users login and out of the VM you can't do it this way.

The automatic login will only work when the machine is booted up.

Since the XP mode VM is always operational what you want I'm afraid can't be done with that piece of software -- you need some sort of server mechanism to be able to run your XP Virtual machine in "Kiosk Mode"

This is NOT a trivial thing to implement -- suggest you read this article. You would need in any case a fully functioning INDEPENDENT VM say running under VBOX or VMWARE.

If you can get it working I'm sure loads of us would be VERY interested as there could be quite a use for this type of application.

Different users log in and out of the Win7 box, but they all log in to the VM as a generic user. The VM is not on the domain. I have created the VM in C:\VM instead of the default location so all users that log into the Win7 box can get to the same VM.
