Hi all, I'm here to ask help for this problem:

83833662dk2.jpg

As you can see the drives list is blank, and I cannot change the location and size of pagefile!
Does anyone have the same problem or have some tips to solve this?
Thank you very much in advance.

Could you explain how you arrived to that problem?

Did you tweak anything on the hard disk drives under Disk Management?
What are your system specs? Did this happen suddenly, it was like this after install or it happened later?

No i didn't, in fact I forgot to tell. I searched a lot but i didn't find anything about intel chipset driver, i supposed that it wans't necessary to install them.
Do you think this could be the problem?

I think it's a good possibility, so you didn't build the system yourself and you don't have the drivers on a disc then, so you will need to go to the Asus site to download the latest drivers.

Hmmm...Something feels weird on your partitioning....

Why is the 200MB boot partition actually 4 GBs? Have you created the partitions manually during install? What other OSs do you have on BOOT?

Please open CMD and post the results of this command:

BCDEDIT /enum ACTIVE

or just

BCDEDIT

Yes I created partion manually during install just to avoid the 200 mb partition. The 4gb partion that you see is that i would like to use for pagefile.

What driver are talking about in particular? Do you mean intel chispet driver?

Can't open the link, where did you look? On asus website?

It's a known bug that intel chipset installation software doesn't work on seven (Operating System not supported). I still don't understand if a manually forced install is really required.

I still think it has to do with you boot configuration... I see your Windows 7 HARD DRIVE is different from your drive where you BOOT partitions resides. Can you tell us what other OS you have ? Do you dual boot with Vista? I think the pagefile is located on a Vista partition and it's conflicting with Windows 7 seeing that page file instead.

Correct me if I'm wrong... Your current windows partition is C: on DISK0, but the boot partition is on another disk, DISK1????

Yes you are right. I had ubuntu on the 10 gb partion that you can see in the screen, but i formatted when i installed seven.
In fact I don't know why boot partion is in the other disk, but it have always been like this.
I don't know how to fix it without formatting all drives (I can't do that cause I have no space for backup).
Anyway, with Vista and ubuntu this was not a problem, everything worked fine, with dual boot with ubuntu (with grub) or not (only Vista installed).

P.S.: sorry for my terrible english, i hope you can understend as well :D

Of course. In my case now, the 10 gb partion I used for linux is not a linux partion, i formatted during seven install.

So now you practically boot from GRUB?

if so, try editing GRUB's menu.lst file and do a re-mapping on the drives on Windows 7 entry. Something like:

Title Windows 7
map (hd1) (hd0)
map (hd0) (hd1)
map --hook

Please tell us which BOOT LOADER starts your computer.

Note: Before you do any remapping, if GRUB is your bootloader, post here the contents of menu.lst file.

No I told you, i formatted the linux partion when I installed Windows 7.

Is there a way to restore the normal boot partion? I mean in the C drive as you told me.
