The media reader is a WD Live Plus. Network is hardwired ethernet. There is no error code per se. It just stops copying after a while and says Windows 7 can no longer access the device WDHDLIVE on the network. If I wait a bit or just reboot, it will show back up and I can access the files that are on the WD. I've noticed that it does manage to copy about 200mb before it wigs out though.
It "feels" like some hardware issue. Is the Ethernet cat 5 cable? Are the ports 10/100, or gigabit?
I assume you have a router, switch, modem somewhere on the network. Is it 10/100 or gigabit?
