For the past 2-3 months I've been receiving the same error in Windows Update every time I try and update: Error 80246008. I've tried the Microsoft Fix It application and the same problem occurs. I took a look into the services and when I try to start one service required by Windows Update it always fails because its core services are not launched, so I tried to launch those and those won't even launch. How can I go about fixing this?

EDIT: I also have tried the steps in this guide http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/113399-windows-update-error-80246008-windows-7-fix.html and I still have the same problem.
