STEVE: Firefox updated to - we're at v13 now. And we were at 13.0. We moved to .1 because there was a subtle problem that the latest version of Adobe's Flash had with an obscure conflict with something called RealPlayer Browser Record, which some people had installed in Firefox, and lord help them because you know how we feel about RealPlayer. I know Elaine, it's the only thing she can use for transcribing, so we understand, Elaine, you're still using it.
LEO: You're the one who's still using it, yeah.
STEVE: Who needs it, who needs it, probably. Anyway, so Firefox. Adobe said you can move back to a prior version of Flash, but Firefox stepped up and fixed it. It was, again, a very subtle interaction with the sandboxing, the new Firefox sandboxing technology for Flash which is hoping to contain future Flash problems and prevent them from turning into exploits. That interacted in some bizarre way with RealPlayer's Browser Record, and so Firefox has been updated to fix that.

It is FF 13.0.1 and fixes one of the problems with Flash.

And then Adobe fixed another problem with Flash ver 11.3.300.262

But there is still a bug which deals with Real Player add on.
Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox | Troubleshooting | Firefox Help
Multiple problems with Flash 11.3.300.xxx and not all have been fixed. It's kind of hard to decipher which problem you may have as they all seem related. I don't use Real Player and have not had any problems with FF 13.0 and Flash 11.3.300.xxx but have updated both to the latest anyway.

I have not encountered the Real Player Record whatchamacallit problem. The first I knew I even had that was when the Mozilla folks pushed out an automatic update that disabled the thing a couple of weeks ago. My reaction was a shrug & an "OK" & I moved on.
With FFx 13.0.1, Flash videos don't play in Protected Mode. I've posted that comment a couple of times but I had not mentioned the FFx version number before. 13.0.1 is the version number I have, and pushing the Check for Updates button in the About FFx box just now says I'm up to date. So to get Flash videos to play with the latest FFx & the latest Flash, you must disable Protected Mode. At least, on my system. If anybody has it working differently, meaning at all in Protected Mode, I sure hope you speak up.
As I have stated before I have FF 13.0.1 and Flash ver 11.3.300.262 with Protected Mode ON and I have had no problems. BUT I do not have Real Player installed and do not intend to install it. If you have Real Player installed then turning Protected Mode OFF will probably fix the problem for now, or remove Real Player plugin from FF. Hopefully FF, Adobe and Real Player will come up with a solution soon.

Now I get it. I do indeed have 5 items listed as enabled in the Plugins related to Real Player. Only the item RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin (listed in Extensions -- yeah, I know, a Plugin listed under Extensions and not Plugins) is disabled, and that because the Mozilla folks pushed out an update that disabled it.Adobe Flash Player v.11.3.300.265 Released.(7/11/2012)
