Solved Cooler Master 212 Plus Fan Issue

Is my fan supposed to spin constantly all the time or no?
The reason I am asking is because it isn't. Watch the short 1 minute video I made, explains it all in detail.

It should be hooked up to the CPU fan header.

Check the BIOS fan setting and make sure that the setting is on PWM.

As said above, yes it is. You also have it on the wrong side of the heatsink. It should be blowing towards the back so the rear fan(s) can pull the heat out.

And I checked BIOS Fan Settings but could not find an option to change it to PWM or to check to see if it was even on that setting.. although it said it was on 'Normal' mode compared to Manual mode...

Okay, yeah it is plugged into that!

I'm not familiar with Gigabyte's bios, but have you checked the fan speeds? There should be an option in the advanced mode of the bios. Check for the speed of the cpu fan.

I took a more in-depth look at my BIOS and I think it is on the correct settings. Will someone clarify this for me and tell me if I should change anything or not.. Pictures below.. Sorry I'm on my phone and imgupr was the only way right now.

Well actually.. I flashed my BIOS to the most updated version yesterday and I haven't seen it stop once. Do you think an older version of the BIOS could effect that?

Turn everything off and then switch the fan connector to a case fan connector. Turn the computer back on and see if the fan runs. Use your motherboard manual to locat a 12v case fan connection on your motherboard.

My fan works plugged into the CPU header. I don't know if you missed that or not. Let me know if you want me to try this or not after knowing that.

I would review the CPU cooler installation instruction as the fan should be pulling case air from the front and pushing that air through the fins towards the rear exhausting case fan. Like mentioned I would replace that fan with two premium fans and if you get Noctua's they are so quiet that even full speed they will barely be audible. Set up the fans in a push pull arrangement and then plug them directly into a free 12volt connection off the PSU and bypass the PWM plug all together.

I flipped my CPU fan to the opposite so now air flow is proper. My fan has not stopped since I did this AND flashed my BIOS to the most updated version.

I'm curious whether you are talking about replacing the CPU Fan or the Rear exhaust fan? I am more interested in this option because it probably provides better cooling. Let me know.

They're talking about replacing the fan on your cpu cooler. If it's working so far, then just keep a close eye on it. I've never heard of a problem with the bios not running the fan, but you can't rule it out. Do you have the airflow of the cpu cooler blowing towards the rear exhaust and out of the case?

I was talking about replacing the problematic fan with two quality fans on the CPU, but that being said I feel that cases benefit from all the fan locations being set up with quality fans either speed controlled or just quiet designs set for wide open. The great news is you have the case air flow moving in the proper direction and it appears that the change of direction has the fan working for the moment. For me I would replace that fan as the one fan you don't want to worry about is that CPU fan.

Oh and regarding any 120mm case fans, Noctua has a slick 140mm that mounts to 120mm stock mounting holes and these fan wide open on 12v are dead silent.
