Apple Magic Mouse works on Windows 7?

Hello,

I have a Toshiba Satellite L305 Series laptop with 2 GB of RAM, Intel Celeron, and 182 GB hard drive space. I really want to get the Apple Magic Mouse. Will that work on a Windows 7 PC? My computer doesn't have Bluetooth, but I am planning on getting a Bluetooth adapter for laptop as well. Will that work? Also, does the magic mouse come with a Bluetooth adapter, or do I have to buy an adapter separately?

Thanks, Help is appreciated.

nope, i have worked for Apple Inc., it will but the feature and functionality wont be up to the mark, so why to use it with Windows.. Its hardware is meant for mac and the Bluetooth pairing wont let you use it cause it wont connect or pair..

Thanks, but I'm not getting it for the awesome multi touch gestures, I am just getting it as a simple mouse for clicking and maybe scrolling. I don't understand why it won't connect even with a Bluetooth adapter, why not? Thanks.

I haven't tried it, but supposedly it will work:

How To: Use the Apple Magic Mouse on Windows 7 - George Tasioulis - How To guides and other interesting stuff from my everyday work

The idea is to install the Windows drivers outside of Bootcamp.

I don't follow Stevy22's remarks, but as the only connection for the mouse is bluetooth, apparently it works for some people.

I'm not sure this is the correct answer. The OP is using a Toshiba notebook, not a MacBook so I doubt the bootcamp update will install.

Thanks guys. So, all in all, will it work or not with a Bluetooth adapter. I don't mind about the limited features as I only want it for clicking and scrolling. Thanks.

The only way to connect the device to your PC is via bluetooth, so yes.

According to the link I shared, touch scrolling is supported but it doesn't mention anything about the gestures. If they're not important to you then it looks like it's a moot point.

Update:

The site confirms the mouse will only do basic functions-
So far we can approve that the driver adds vertical and horizonal (touch) scrolling. Unfortunately we haven't found any configuration options for the Magic Mouse, that's why we can't provide a Control Panel.

Just run the driver installer first and then install the utilities for a smoother scrolling experience. I would test this driver for you but I don't have a magic mouse

As I had a bluetooth adapter and magic mouse sat on my desk I thought I'd try it out and it works out of the box for basic mouse function and the scroll feature works once the driver from this post is installed.

I have no idea... ask UPS, FedEx, etc I guess?

Just install refer to the page I linked to. There is nothing you need to do except install that driver and optionally the additional utility.

z3r010 already confirmed that the linked driver works properly

For the cost you are looking at, why not just pick up a mouse locally and use that? Aside from costing less, it comes with less hassle.

Emarascek, also, on the link there are two options, which one should I get? The first one says it includes bootcamp, which I don't want. So which one is it? Thanks.

Yes, from what I understand the first one requires components of bootcamp to install. The second one helps improve scrolling once you have the first one installed
