System recovery with Alien Respawn now D: drive is not showing up

I recently used Alien Respawn with my new laptop because of issues with my hard drive being slow, only the C: drive was returned to factory settings after doing so when I would click on the D: drive it seemed a bit slow loading all the programs within it. Then this morning while at work the D: doesn't show up in My Computer anymore. Is this a raid configuration issue?

Here is the attached disk management file, also when restarting my computer it says that there is an issue and runs a diagnostic on my hard drive.

Hmm it looks like your 2nd hard drive (your conventional HDD I presume) is missing in Windows..

How many HDDs did you have on your Alienware to begin with when you purchased it?

You mentioned a possible RAID issue, what was the configuration of the RAID array before the troubles started?

Can you head to the BIOS of your Alienware system and check whether the system can detect it there?

There was originally 2 hard drives the SSD boot drive for windows (C and the second (D, I'm trying to figure this problem out on my own because technical support pretty much said its my fault and if I want their help I have to pay $120 which is pretty stupid considering its only like 2 months old. The technician only mentioned that it might be the raid configuration , so I'm not sure about that. I will check the BIOS right now.

This time when loading up instead of letting it check the consistency error NTFS Volume label DataPart1 ....when I skipped this step and logged in the second drive is there....but is now E:

That's good news somewhat... at least the drive is still detected by both your BIOS and Windows!

There's no RAID issues with your system as you've only got mismatched drives that couldn't be in a RAID array to begin with.

The drive's been assigned a new drive letter which is perfectly fine due to the drive disappearing and reappearing after Windows has assigned D: to your optical drive.

Can you check the E: volume to see whether you can view any files inside it normally?

Try copying a few files from C: to E: to test it out...

Given that it is your computer that you just purchased, you should know exactly what hardware is in it and how it is configured. How else would you know if you were getting a good price on the computer, or if it was worth the cost, etc?

That being said, what exactly did the tech support agent say was your fault? Assuming we are talking about your E drive here, and not D, then it is possible the drive is dying, if it is sometimes not detected. Depending on the system brand, there should be some diag tools available to test out the drive.

There's a way to disable that message from popping up if you're satisfied that your drive is functioning as intended...

Open an elevated command prompt and type in chkntfs /x c: e: following these instructions:-

1. Click Start Orb
2. In search box, type cmd
3. Right-click on cmd.exe, and choose 'Run as Administrator'
4. In the command prompt type chkntfs /x c: e:
5. Press Enter

Reboot your computer and see whether the message is displayed this time around.

Restarted and didn't get the message, everything seems fine......you were a huge help!! I was so angry after speaking with the tech support but now all seems well.

You've surpressed the message, but that would make me fearful that I was just covering up a problem. If it was my system, I would still test the disk out.

Open up that elevated command prompt again like was mentioned in the previous post, and type in chkdsk e: /r

Just a heads up, it will take quite a long time based on the size of your drive.

Is this a Dell? If so, they should have something available to download from their website, once you go to support and enter in your service code. I believe some Dell's also have a key to press right after power on the enter diagnostics.
