Solved Cooler master GX-450W good?

I plan to buy new PSU for my build I5-2400+GTS450
Is this cooler master good?
anyone has it and can tell is it reliable? Is one 12v rail good or bad.. i was reading some reviews and still am confused

Ironically for the same price I just picked up a pair of Corsair CX600 model 600w supplies onsale until last wednesday one now in use on the old Antec 900 Vista case running Vista there and the second for a new 7 Pro mini tower case about to be fired up later today. Still waiting the last two items to finish that one up.

As for a 450w model it will mainly depend on how much hardware and what hardwares it will be used for. For a minimum stock case it will meet the minimum requirements. But for any ocing or placing heavy demands on it you may want to consider a larger model supply with more then one rail as well as more connections.

as newegg dont ship to my location, price on newegg is irrelevant.
i dont need 600w im fine with good 400W. power usage is only around 50% load.
is corsair builder series v2 better than coolermaster GX?
for example corsair cx430v2 vs cooler master GX450
witch one has better quality, reliability... because they both have enough power.

Besides the higher wattage I was also looking at the 40a on the main rail. Plus you have more then one. If you decide to add to the system later or upgrade into a new build where you find you need the larger supply you will already have it for about the same price range.

Cooler Master is another good brand. But each brand also has their different model series at times. The specifications and effeciency are the things to look at mostly however.

Here I simply go above the actual need to some extent so I never reach the 50% mark to start with. The supply itself will typically run cooler along with everything else since it is never pulled on heavily.

Another thing about the CX600 is they seem to run much more quietly then other larger or smaller supplies wattage wise. As fior the other two supplies you want a comparison newegg didn't have the Cooler Master GXX450 instock or simply not found to look the specs over on that one.

The Corsair 430w however is the Builder series and still sees only one main rail but an 80% efficiency rating. The TX series however is the high end line with Corsair however.

I would not get overly concerned about the one 12 volt rail issue.

I think that particular Coolermaster GX series is made by Seventeam and would probably not be my first choice.

I think the Corsair builder series V2 is manufactured by Channel Well--and would not be my first choice either.

The question I would have to add here is where can you buy from? Taking a look at just what the vendor carries will provide the best options for picking one out rather then simply looking at the manufacturer's page only.

There's enough makes and models of supplies to pick from. Some idea of the hardwares you will running on the system will also be a help too since the minimum is 350w for a single HD case with a low end card for the basics.

As far as Channel Well they were also making Antec supplies as well. Zalman, ThermalTake, FSP, Enermax, CoolMax, RaidMax, etc. all see supplies in the 400-500w range to start with.

most Seasonic is too expensive for me S12II 430W seasonic price is around 2 times more than that of GX450w cooler master.
From corsair in my price range is only builder series like CX430 V2
antec is a bit expesive.
YES i want to buy budget PSU that is reliable.. i dont do extreme gaming and my W requirement is relatively low.. max draw should never exceed 350W

another thing there is some active PFC PSU models that have bad compatibility with UPS, because i need to use ups, i want PSU that has no issues with ups.

I used the gx-450 on system i just sold.
My old i7 2600k, Asus P8P67Pro, 8gb, AMD 6770, 1tb 7200 rpm drive, 60gb Ocz SSD.
System runs fine at 4.4ghz, but I clocked it down to stock speeds since I used the stock cooler.

Seems a lot of people over buy a psu, buying waaaaay more psu than they will ever use.
I'm still rocking an Antec 650 with my setup, and I had more things in my pc's than the average person.
Q6600 @ 3Ghz, 8gb ddr2, gtx285, 9600gt, bluray/hd-DVD/DVD-rw, 9 7200rpm drives, 3 90mm fans, 1 120mm fan
With my 3 monitors, 2 large powered speakers, 2 network switches, and some other items, I would pull 390watts from the wall with the CPU and gpu at 100% load. That means the psu is using only 310watts on the dc side, so I've got 340watts of headroom.

My current setup only has 6 hard drives and 2 SSD's, a bluray/hd-DVD/DVD-rw, i7 3770k @ 4.4ghz, corsair h60 with 2 120mm fans, 3 240mm case fans, hd5850 video card. I have a 3.5" hot swap bay so I'll sometimes have 7 hard drives in the machine.

I dont do overcloking i dont see the need for it.. my cpu has enough power its better to add ssd to increase speed, because HDD is the slowest part.

It should work out for you. If you start adding drives and other things in or build a larger case then you may be looking at a larger supply.

The idea of going with a larger supply isn't necessarily having all the extra wattage but the additional power connector for things like twin front intake fans on each drive bay that holds 3 drives as well as the rear, side, and top fans as well as the 3 optical drives now seen lately as well as four sata drives. No Crossfire setup however despite running a dual monitor setup.

I found my Antec Earthwatts 450 couldn't support a Core 2 6320, 3 SATA hdd, 1 optical, 4GB RAM, and a GTX 470. I upgraded to a PC Power & Cooling brand Silencer MK II 750W PSU and it's been pretty good. Main thing I notice, other than my system being able to start, is that it's so quiet sometimes I have to check to make sure it's still on.

it should work out because now it works on 400W chieftec power supply without a problem (maximum load, it is very rare i may add, it gets around 60%-70%) so 450W should be enough.. i dont need that much HDDs because i have home server for storage and backups.. i dont use optical drives for some years now, i consider optical media to be unreable, with digital distribution, fast internet, widespread of NAS, cheap and large usb flash memory, usb HDDs etc. i rarely use optical media.
i never plan to do crossfire or sli, because single mid range card like GF gts450, or GF gtx550Ti is enough for all the gaming i might do.

mostly im worried not about W, but quality. there is some cases where burning PSU took down motherboard and other components as well.

A bad supply can really trash the works! The first 700w of the same lasted until it died from early 2007 until 2010 right when this case was planned out. The next one tripped a 20am four plug wall outlet despite how good the surge protection on the power strip was taking the new board along with it.

I spotted the Corsair TX750 at a good price when going to look for something else and bought a second for spare at the time. I would never put in any 1000w deal however! I could easily run a great Crossfire setup with the one in use.

The extra drives and the need for those few more connectors was the main reason for anything over 600-650 to start with in case I expanded any further on the case. The supply still seems to be running cool and quiet after 2+yrs. however suggesting I made a good choice on it.

The quality factor of course is always the first item on the list and why I mentioned always looking over the specs when going to pick one out from the various makes. Efficiency and good regulation are things to look for regardless of how large or small the supply is.

got my PSU today after installing it woks without a problem is silent, dont have coil whine that some cheaper PSU have and and cooling fan is silent at light load.. my system at light load draws around 120W from wall so that means at 80+ efficiency i think it should be around 85%, so PC uses around 95watt at light load internet, mail etc.
so far everything is good.. but thats only few hours testing.

I just the new 7 Pro case up and running with the CX600 and not one problem. You wouldn't even know it was running except for the leds.
