I did change it, rebooted and it stayed the same. I have created a restore point each time though. Does this look OK now?

I don't know. I'm guessing that either that Dell tech in India that was installing stuff to try to get my card reader to work or the guy at Monoprice that sent me the special software to get my tablet to work. It took me about a week to undo what the Dell tech did.

Do you still have the following key in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WMI\Autologger

That was one of the erroneous data entries within the BootExecute key. It should be a key in and of itself, not necessarily as data within a key.

One other thing that I forgot. Dell recommended and I bought Iolo System Mechanic 10. It is supposed to be so great. It really screwed up my PC before I removed it.

Ah, I see. Just FYI, the only "miracle" optimizer program I trust is CCleaner (it might be inappropriate to put CCleaner in that category). But I very rarely use it, and when I do run it I make sure to make a backup of the registry and then use it to manually remove the entries it identifies. I don't expect (and don't get) performance improvements from using it; it's basically just to keep the machine clean of useless crud.
