Have you changed your BIOS settings? The only things coming to my mind which could (?) help you are.
1) If you have changed your BIOS settings, reset BIOS to factory settings
2) If you have not updated your BIOS lately, do it now
3) completely wipe and format your hard disk
4) Use only basic hardware setup when doing a clean install, i.e. no USB or Firewire devices except possible mouse and KB
When it is still not working, it is (in my opinion) a driver issue and you should install 32-bit version.1) Yes, I have. I have also rolled back to an older BIOS whcih ASUS sshowed me they succesfully installed with. No help. I was using the latest BIOS version 9posted about a week ago)
3) I started like that. In the meantime I have also used a second drive (IDE) and a different partition (on my SATA), all with same result
4) I disabled everything, including IRQs.
Maybe this either helps somebody else or somebody sees a solution. I am very inclined to think it is a problem with Win7 boot file as mentioned on the UNAWAVE article I posted the link to. But I can't prove it, because I don't have a Vista 64 boot file to try. The article was apparenlty written for the 32 bit versions.
I saw another post from somebody that has the same problem but could install Vista. I will suggest he tries this, maybe it is the solution
