Solved Why are my questions deleted or moved, what am i doing wrong?

Not sure why you think your questions are being deleted or moved. I checked your statistics and it shows you've started 18 threads going back to July 2, 2012

Also in statistics > all posts, it shows 38 which matches your current post count. They all seem to be intact.

I haven't followed your threads, but maybe:

You are not starting the thread in the proper subdivision in the forum?

You are starting multiple threads on the same topic, rather than a single properly placed thread?

You are posting something forbidden or way off topic?

Maybe the reason you are finding the OP asked only one question is the other three were deleted or moved without being linked? I know I asked a question on this forum yesterday and someone moved it to Network & Sharing overnight but didn't bother to link the move in this forum. It took me forever to find where it had been moved to.

No, as I said he only posted one (I do check these things before posting).

BTW the is you're using the SF default site skin there is a "My Posts" link on the nav bar that will list all your posts instantly.

Shouldn't have to. It should have been linked as has been done with other moved posts.

If you had the slightest idea of how many posts over a day were moved due to being posted in the wrong sections, then you would know that leaving a link for more than a few hours for each one make the forum very untidy and pretty unusable.

There are lots of easy ways of finding all your posts without making the place harder to navigate for those people that bothered to post in the correct sections.

I agree, too many redirected threads listed in a forum would make it look untidy and difficult to use. That's why I prefer to use expiring redirects, where the thread is shown in the thread list of the original forum that it was posted in for only a limited period of time, namely 1hr, thereafter automatically disappearing from the thread list. This is for the benefit of the poster so that s/he knows where their thread is. Don't forget that you can also locate your threads/posts by clicking on your username at the top right of the Forum (where it says Welcome,...) and then choosing the Statistics tab and then Find all posts by... or Find all threads started by... as appropriate.

Oh? So people are supposed to check here every hour or less 24/7 to make sure they don't miss a possible (seems more like probable) redirect? Some benefit! An expiring redirect that lasts at least 48 hours would make much more sense. Keep in mind, some people have lives and don't (or can't) homestead here.

Frankly, methinks you all are too anal about relocating threads. Of all the forums I've been on, this one has far more relocated threads than the others combined!

NOT complaining but I've had a couple of threads "disappear" completely in the last few days. I admit I posted two that were posted in the "wrong place" i.e. News instead of Security News but had 1 or 2 disappear completely. Love this place so I didn't say anything and in the end it really doesn't matter, just sayin.

MY suggestion for the problem is to SAVE the above link from your browser.. (your post page )
then post that link to yourself from your own mail account..

If your question is moved for good reasons.( .wrong forum area ) or it gets moved.. you'll be alerted .. etc.

In the quick links menu there are two options of "My Active threads" & "Threads I posted in" as well as on the default skin nav bar "My Posts" additionally your profile stats page you can find your posts from the "Find all posts" & "Find all threads".

We make it very easy to find threads so I see no need whatsoever to leave redirects littering the forums.
