Solved winload.exe digital signature not verified & boot manager loop

so bootmgr is back again. you did startup repair as well? (maybe automatic)
otherwise in recovery environment->command prompt
dir e:\ is that the win7 drive?

bcdboot  e:\windows

it is definetely a bootmgr, bcd , mbr or bootsector issue
mbr and bootsector are rewritten alreay by bootrec commands
bootmgr has also been refreshed

bcd is now in wrong state. That's why bcdboot command has to be done. Or startup repair 3 times
Otherwise... your winload.exe is really corrupt

It finally worked! The bcdboot command you suggested in your next to the most recent emails seemed to do the trick. Now I won't have to reinstall and worry about saving dicuments, etc. Other good things from Holland besides spek & stroop! Thanks so much!

bcdboot command just adds or modifues the boot entry. I think you didn't do startup repair 3 times (?)

How about spek and stroop ... didn't know that were real Dutch things! I thought you all think it was about red light district and free soft drugs and tulips and wooden shoes!

How come you know Dutch habits? Searched the internet.. have Dutch friends...?

I did have an old Dutch friend (Prof. Dirk Struik, a world famous mathematician, google him!) who passed away a few years ago at 106 - who told me to seek out spek & stroop and rijstafel when there. We later spent a few days in Utrecht at a software trade show in the '80s. Toured around in spare time. Loved Haarlem and its museum with the giant electrical machine from the 18th century. Sorry to others reading, this is all off subject - visit Holland, you won't regret it! Back on subject, your tips got me past zero, but as I suspected there are other things wrong. I can get into windows, but reboots are unstable, often resulting in stopping at the mouse arrow with a black screen. I think we are in virus territory. Client has a pre-teen daughter who may have downloaded and clicked on anything that struck her as colorful. Maybe a discipline problem rather than a computer problem. Hope I am not expelled from the forum for being so off-topic, but it is the weekend - tools down!

So windows is up and running. But not always.... mouse arrow on black screen. Before are after logon? Can you press ctrl-alt-del then and start task manager? Most of the time it is a problem with explorer.exe

I also think it's a virus... can the system offline from DVD

THANKS. This information may be "old", but it is wise. I used paragon migrate os to move a win 10 (upgraded from win 7) from an HD to a new SSD. There are lots of "help" things on the web, but this one was the winner. so THANKS -- it can't be said to many times.

As many reported the core problem is "winload.exe" file, so delete and replace. If anyone still runs into this issue I'll share how I fixed it. In Win7 recovery disk CMD type the following commands:

1. D: (adjust this to wherever your copy of 7 is located)
2. cd \Windows\System32
3. del winload.exe
4. copy "winload~1.exe" winload.exe
5. exit

This did the trick for me after days of searching, this happened after a failed Win7 update & is quite common as i found out. I hope this helps somebody.
