How to recover from unallocated space

I was having problems installing a SSD on an old computer and decided that it may be incompatible and not having another drive available I partitioned my existing 500g drive and tried to copy the Cdrive to it and go with that. I used Macrium reflect to clone the drive and it apparently deleted the partition. Any ways to recover the lost files?

Yes the 1st thing I did was follow that alignment process. I have since formated the drive in order to install windows does that remove the alignment?
I looked at Recuvva I did not see how to direct it to look in the unallocated space. I am currently running easeUSdata recovery and it has found over 11,000 files and only about 25% into the scan. I'm sure I will be over the free file size, I'm sure there is no guarantee that it will work so I'm reluctant to buy it.

Hum if you aligned it again I am not sure as i did that with an SSD some time ago and ended up with two primary partitions - hasn't made any major differences but all the same something to keep in mind..

You could also check with the Partition Wizard to see if it still there and also DISKPART.

I will figure out if I have a bit locker soon after I recover the lost data.

I ended up buying EaseUS data recovery. I did google searches and found forums where other deleted/lost partitions came back just like before using this program. So far that has not been the case for me. It’s like the contents of 250 GB of data that was in thousands of folders was just dumped out then re-gathered re-titled, now only the photos seem intact but are in no particular order.

All the other files can not even be opened windows asked for a program to open it. There are folders correctly titled but have almost nothing in them and what is in them is completely unusable. Most of the data is a raw file I don’t know what to do with it.

The Recuva didn’t even see the unallocated space. Testdisk recovered files but was much harder to use and the JPEG files were not intact. I don’t think a professional recover would do much better.

I’m in big trouble on this one. This was my wife’s drive all her pictures. I know I should have had it saved on more than one drive.

You already tried two good data recovery apps, but if you want to try a third one, I would recommend RecoverMyFiles from runtime software. That has saved me numerous times when filesystems got corrupted. You can download the trial version from their site, run it, and see what it finds -- without having to pay for it.

And yeah, it's likely to NOT work, but if it were me, I'd at least try it and see.
