How do I disable the 'Close Window' option in the taskbar?

Hi,
I'm trying to remove the 'Close Window' option in the taskbar. Here is an example.

For many times I have accidentally close the window using this method and lost hours of work. I did some search on the web but all I found were related to software development. What I'm looking for, is to remove this option from Windows 7 or stop that menu from showing up if I click and drag the mouse up.

I don't know if this can be done, but I have one question: is clicking and dragging the only method you're using to get this menu to appear?

Yes, it is why I have been closing windows accidentally. I click it to open but I end up dragging the mouse up a little bit and release the button when it is on top of 'Close Window'.
I know this sounds stupid but happens to me all the time.

From my findings it can't be done . That option would have to be written inside the program itself.

You could try this . But this will disable all of the content menu on the taskbar

Open notepadad copy and paste

I know this sounds stupid but happens to me all the time.

The only thing I can recommend is to use a more relaxed grip on the mouse. Practice clicking so that you don't even move the mouse; when you click, the only thing that should be moving is your finger. The secret is to relax your hand, keep it 'limp', and to end up with a finger motion that is extremely brief.

One of the best ways to practice is by playing Solitaire. I think it's the only way this will stop happening. I mean it sounds to me like your mouse technique just needs to be improved a bit.

In addition, start using Alt+Tab more.

@VistaKing Thank you but it didn't work as expected. In fact, I don't even have the last folder, 'Explorer'. Don't know if it is hidden or some Windows Professional version limitation. But I manage to find another way through gpedit.msc. However it only works when you rigth click in the actually taskbar, not in the taskbar items(programs).

Too sad because there is a way to remove the pin option, but not the 'Close Window'
