Hello everyone,
I've been searching tooth and nail all over the internet for how to do this but to no avail. Here's what I want
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6481804/Menu.png

I want my context menu to have big icons and small text (left) but no matter what I do it's always the default (right) I've tried registry tweaks, and increasing the DPI to around 300 on XP style size increase. It increased the icon size but at a cost all the windows were completely unusable but it showed that there was a value to increase to get that effect... I just haven't found it.

I know it's an oddly specific request but I have this Windows 7 tablet that with this edit be incredibly helpful for Menu navigation. I assume it's a registry tweak somewhere...

Hello and welcome Lucern mate I have tried various things with the the properties etc etc and I am guessing it will have to be a registry change. Have you looked though the tutorials for changing icons sizes?

The only one I can find I tried but mine does not have that up / down control just customise.

Right click in an open space in that area > properties > and pick the Strat menu / customise.

However I found this but did not try it

Yeah I've tried just about every tutorial I could find, I know how to add icons and shortcuts to the Right click context menu, but they all are stuck as 16x16 and I can't make them bigger.

In the advanced appearance settings it lets me adjust the text size in the Menu tab of the Advanced Appearance settings but even when I make the text larger the Icons still stay tiny like this...

I'm fine with a registry tweak I just need to find out where exactly size for those icons is located, I've been hunting for about three days to no avail

Hum I don't know Lucern as you say there has to be a setting as you can see from my pic I can see the taskbar icon widths but I have dome some searching for the entry you need but I reckon it might just be worth trying a query in Home - Microsoft Community

Sorry mate I have tried but it really needs someone from Microsoft who is involved in the writing o the software to help you out.

There are some elements of windows7 gui that cannot be completely altered. Context menu icon size is one of them.

Alright, I was hoping there was some sort of tutorial I was missing here, I'll check with Microsoft and hopefully they'll give me a real answer and not just download windows 8 or somethin'

I thought that as well BUT windows alters the size when the DPI setting is changed, and XP style scaling is enabled. The icons are not pixelated and use their larger forms so something in somewhere changes the size and if the function exists there must be a way to access it :geek:
