What should i choose? Gpu or Monitor?

Hi i have some trouble.. I whant to upgrade my rig a bit and i consider to either upgrade my old computer or get a bigger monitor.

My old computer:
Amd phenom x3 2,4 ghz
4Gb DDR2
ENGT 430 gpu
300W psu
pci-e 2.0
(Look on my photos to see the computer inside) dont know if the gpu will fit.. But it should.


Gpu upgrade:


Ati Radeon 7770
Compatible with a 300W psu. And its not that expencive.
Will this be much better than my ENGT 430 or just a bit better?


Also with this is ot worth the money?
And will it be better than my current computer if i upgrade? While playing my old computer is pretty simular
In performance wise as my new computer (see my current computer specs)


Or should i save up 100€ more to get a 27" monitor/tv 1080P? If i get this i can use mu vga and hdmi on my laptop so i can get 2 screens or 3 screens. ( i will get 3 screens if i put my laptop on the desk. But that thing is SOO loud!

Just thought I'd let you know that the 7770 is compatible, but not recommended with a 300w PSU, it's recommended at a minimum of 500w, I use the 7770 on a 400w PSU and before I upgrade anything I'm getting a high end PSU, for upgradability and reliability. You should also consider that performance will decrease all round with a 1080p monitor, and it would hit hard on the GPU.

I second the PSU upgrade. Better to have excess wattage than run into trouble down the line when you upgrade and run into a power shortage. Also you might want to consider an cpu upgrade. 2.4GHz is a little slow nowadays. A nice phenom x4 can be had for a round 100 usd depending on where you buy it.

I could upgrade the cpu yeah. But im only up for better gaming performance right now... Mynew laptop is 4x 1,9 ghz so hehe.... Yeah i know. My computers suck and i cant do anything about it. My budget dont handle upgrade costs and my computers are foing to be real expensive upgrading..

I don't see "300W recommended" in the link that you provided. It states that the GPU uses a maximum of 150W. (That's probably not true. 150W is the maximum for a PCI-E card with a 6 pin PCI-E auxiliary power connector; I think the 7770 is more like 100W.)

www.sapphiretech.com recommends at least 400W for their version, 500W for two cards in crossfire.

In a review at anandtech, with an I7-3960X (6 core Socket 2011 CPU, rated at 130W TDP), the most heavily loaded system drew 250W from the mains. The PSU had to be making 200W or more.

Maybe your system will run OK with a 300W PSU, if it's a good one. (Example of a good one: 25A available on the +12V rail. Not so good, 16A on the +12V rail.) I wouldn't care to chance it, if the system was mine.

Okey guys... Do the asus radeon hd 7750 run nicely on my 300W psu? The stores says its a 7770 but apparently its a 7750.. And will it be a big jump from my old geforce gt 430?

Ok. Its first acually a 7750 and no. Its not a high quality psu. It makes a beeping sound and its not any fance cooling or colour. Youst a light grey thing made from china
