Windows 7 repeated crash and re-boot

Hi

I have Windows 7 Home Premium on a Sony laptop which was running OK for some time. I recently attempted to install Ubuntu as a dual boot but it failed to install correctly. I cannot open the .dmp file but captured some info from the screen below.

Windows is currently booting up/ crashing cycles every 5 mins or so.

I guess that the problem must be related to the failed instal. So far I have been unable to uninstall Ubuntu or install Windows 7. Any ideas?

Why install win7... you already have it.
You know how to uninstall ubuntu?

Do you see a strange grub menu on boot?
You installed ubuntu on separate disk, on separate partition?

When I try to uninstall Ubuntu, it flags an error message :/2.3Gb -insufficient memory on the partition. I tried to increase the partition but for some reason it is not letting me increase it and therefore fails to uninstall.

I should have also said that it is booting up normally into Windows 7-no odd grub menu. I can access my programs OK. After 5 mins it simply crashes

have you tried system restore? restoring to the point when you haven't installed ubuntu. i think somehow the boot loader has been modified by the ubuntu installation but unfortunately unsuccessfully causing corrupt win7 boot loader. you can fix this using the win7 installation disc, boot to the disc then choose 'startup repair'. this will restore the original win7 bootloader.
i had one experience of dualboot, win7 with windows xp. the problem began when i installed xp after win7 n not before. with this scenario, i cannot boot to win7 anymore because the bootloader is modified to older OS thus not compatible with newer win7 OS. This may indicate similar thing happening to you, with ubuntu installed after win7.
best thing to do is to clean-install, swap the order n install ubuntu first followed by win7. it's better to do this all from dos. also, if you can't uninstall ubuntu from windows, you can just format the partition through dos n everything will be wiped out clean.

Grub is already gone.... at least it's not seen anymore. So I assume he has win7 MBR boot code now. Can be solved anyway by "startup repair" as you suggested. He can simply delete the linux partitions... from win7 "disk management".

Linux does NOTHING with win7.... it must be another problem.
