I, on occasion, receive email from some unknown person that appears to have a bunch of words in the body, neither making sense or is in the form of really bad poetry. Is this a coded message of sorts, malware or?

But if you don't know the sender and you don't have your public PGP key then it has been sent to you by mistake.

Definitely would be a good idea not to open anything from someone you don't know, could be spam, could be a virus. Use your E Mail filters to block messages like that in the future.

This is quite common with SPAM messages and I believe an attempt to evade SPAM filtering. Never click on any links in a SPAM email. Many of the email addresses used by spammers were harvested a long time ago and have long since been abandoned by their owners, possibly because of SPAM. By replying you confirm to the sender that your email address is legitimate and in active use. That makes it more valuable to spammers.

Also be aware that the displayed source address of SPAM email is almost always fake. Spammers go to considerable lengths to ensure that the real point of origin is not found.

Tx for the tips, The one's I have been receiving have had no attachments or links etc, just plain nonsensical text in grouping of words i.e. house sky box went hood wheel etc. I do spend some time in order to form some rules that would send them to the deleted folder, however some email address are like xyz@ab:cdef.com. Outlook reports back that this is an invalid address. Further selecting words in the subject line get no response or match. I have been going to the header to find the source but not sure the filter process goes thru the header when checking for a match.
