How to change MS Office Shortcut Icons?

Hey all, just got Office 2010 TP, and was wondering how I go about changing the icons of the shortcuts, in the start menu.

I took ownership of the folder them and it didn't help. Any thoughts? I want to use this icon pack I found

Well apps sometimes are like this what I do is just delete that shortcut and drag the actual .exe file to the start menu program folder whilst holding the right button down, you will then get a box saying move to, copy to and create shortcut, choose the last one and then you can modify it.

Yeah two problems;

1. I cannot find the actually EXE of it, as there are MANY things in the folder under: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office

2. I found one that should have been it, but it said it wasn't a valid Win32 application (which leads me to believe that the shortcuts open multiple files, including some dll's).

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 11\Excel.exe

Nothing like that?

And for my Icon file..

C:\Documents and Settings\Your user name\Local Settings\Application Data

Turn on hidden files and delete that IconCache.db.

Windows will recreate it at startup.

Well then just do a search for Excel.exe or something of the sorts.

Deleting/restarting did nothing.

Oh I found Excel. Maybe it was just that one (Microsoft Access) that didn't like me directly opening it. O.O

Okay apparently I just opened the wrong .exe (referring to Microsoft Access issue).

Alright my issue is now solved, thanks TG I should start sleeping them attempting to solve a problem, not solve then sleep. XD

I know this thread is dead, but this page is the 2nd result of a Google search for "office shortcuts change icon" so I want people to actually find a solution here:

Open Task Manager
Open the Start Menu shortcut folder in Explorer, and navigate to the Office folder
(i.e. Start Menu > Microsoft Office 20XX > Right-click folder > Open)
Double-click and open one shortcut (e.g. Word)
When the window pops up, go to Task Manager and find it under the Applications tab.
Right-click, Go To Process
Right-click the process, Open File Location (This is the file that the shortcut links to)
Test it out by closing the program, and double-clicking the EXE directly.
If it works, right-click the EXE, copy
Go back to the Shortcuts folder, right-click, Paste Shortcut
Customize to your liking; delete original
Repeat for any/all other shortcut
