IE8 is dated enough it is considered unsecure. You can find it online via search but MS doesn't support it for later than Vista. I would not go back further than IE9 which is also available online for download.

IE 10 does have a spellchecker.

Seems every time I transpose letters it fixes it. Just happened when I spelled t-a-r-n-s-p-o-s-e)

No other version of internet explorer came with spell checker until ie10,
Any spell checker ie9 or ie8 were third party add-ons which most will still work in ie10 as well,
Which my preference is Google toolbars spell checker it is by far the best I've ever seen in action much more suggestions and no self correcting/ grammar non-sense or being as stuck up as apples spell checker for iphones and ipads...

Are you using "64bit tabs"? I'm not suggesting that you turn on 64bit tabs, I'm just asking if you have them turned on because that matters to the discussion about the toolbar issue you are having. See this tutorial to see if you have 64bit tabs enabled:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...10-enable-32-bit-64-bit-ie10-windows-7-a.html

What is the name of THE tool bar you are having issues with?

Your last post does not answer the question that I asked in my last post... but then again, no one has answered your original question of how to go from IE10 to IE8. We really hate to see you do that - but the answer is in this post.

I suggest that you leave the UAC at the default level or higher.

You might want to watch at 720p and in the full screen mode.

I do not recommend Google or any other toolbar. Any installed Google program in pernicious spyware that can only be partly mitigated by running the Consumer Opt-out | NAI: Network Advertising Initiative.

Same for staying signed into any Google site including Youtube. They will track you and build a profile on you that is creepily intrusive, answering an email for example proposing lunch on the cheap with ads pasted everywhere for lunch specials under $10. These ads will follow you everywhere.

Use only the stable Google search bar built into Firefox or IE which Google cannot spy from. Just say No to anything Google.

I thought the best/easiest way to revert to a previous version of IE was using "Turn Windows features on or off".
By turning off IE10, won't that automatically revert to IE9 (no need to download/reinstall)?
I've never reverted back, so i never tested this, but that's how I would go back to IE9 if I needed to.
(Unless someone here with experience says "Don't do that...")
Am I wrong in my thinking/assumption...???

Turning off IE in Features only hides it, that's all.

I believe you can roll it back in Windows Updates if it's listed as an Installed Update when you choose that option at the top looking at the update history, or from Control Panel>Programs. Or hide it and install IE9.

AH, thanks Greg.

I wasn't sure if removing it via Windows Update was better/safer/worse because there may have been updates to IE10 since it was "first installed"...
So, does just uninstalling the original IE10 Update also back out all updates to IE10 that were applied later?
Or, is it necessary to uninstall all the IE10 updates before uninstalling the "initial IE10 update"?

Sorry for my pita questions :o

Hi Clayp. Try this for spell check.
Open I.E. and at the top go to Tools.
Select Manage add ons
On the left of the screen their will be a box Add on types.
Scroll through there until you find Spell correction and put a check mark there.
In the lower left corner of the big display their should be a box with a check mark in it (enable spell correction).
That should of been default but sometime things don't go as they should.

I.E. SPELL CORRECTION.PNG

Now here is a great little free program to see what your computer has in it. It works quite well and is easy to use.

http://www.piriform.com/speccy

If you go to Start Orb and type in UAC you will see
Change User Account control settings. Tick on it and you will find what your are looking for.

Hope this helps with some of your problems.
Get back to us on how things go.
