My middle name is Scott and its the name I go by. My FIRST name is Alan and its the one I don't care for. But go figure...... it wasn't until just a few years ago that I noticed my middle name is spelled wrong on my birth certificate ,"Scot" instead of "Scott". Does that mean I've been living a lie?!

My middle name, which I will never mention, was after my father who left our home 1.5 years after I was born.
Saw him once in my life and always had excuses about paying child support leaving my Mother to raise 4 kids.
Try raising 4 kids making 25 cents an hour waiting on tables at a resturaunt. So my middle name will go unmentioned.

Sad. Sounds like your Mother was the salt of the earth. My middle name was my father's name - pretty common I think for sons. The good think about a middle name is that some people end up choosing this in preference to their first name.

OHHHH No it just means some people can't type or write correctly.
You might want to have it offically corrected.

William, from my dad's first name. Because it was my dad's, I love it. Dad was just the most wonderful father, gone now these 25 years but never ever forgotten. I was the last of 3 brothers and the only one to bear his name, my first name is after a favourite uncle who coached me in Football (capital 'F' 'cos I mean Soccer!)

SWMBO was christened Sylvia Dianne, hates the Sylvia bit and has now been known as Dianne for so long, that a call asking for 'Sylvia' almost caused her to say there was no one of that name here!
