Hi there,

I bought an Alienware computer with Win7 on it not quite 2 years ago and haven't had any problems for a long while. Recently I get a huge ammount of random freezes, mostly in or right after start up and I have to then force shut down the computer to get it working again. I thought at first that it was just because of the heat and just gave it some time. Now the crashes get more common and are often related to a blue screen. I am not sure which part of it is relevant so I'll try to write everything down I found on it xD I will try to take a picture next time it happens.

I get the error code:
0x0000003B (0x00000000C000001D, 0xFFFFF960002A4A67, 0xFFFFF8800570ABD0, 0x0000000000000000)

a bit further down I think it says:
win32k.sys - Address FFFFF90002A4A67 base at FFFFF96000060000

not so sure about the second part, but I tried to write everything down as good as possible.
I tried googling it and found several posts with parts of the codes but I wasn't sure if the same things would be relevant for me if it's not all matching exactly.

I will upload my system info and my sf file, if you need anything else please tell me.

Welcome to SF!

The .zip you uploaded contains two dumps which are not recent, (08/09/2012 & 22/06/2013)
but both suggest a driver misbehaving.

22/06/2013 Bugcheck:
Code:
BugCheck D1, {fffff8800294dcd8, 2, 0, fffff88001921b5a}

Probably caused by : [COLOR=Blue][U][B]ndis.sys[/B][/U][/COLOR] ( ndis!ndisReceiveWorkerThread+19a )
Code:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If kernel debugger is available get stack backtrace.
Arguments:
Arg1: fffff8800294dcd8, memory referenced
Arg2: 0000000000000002, IRQL
Arg3: 0000000000000000, value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
Arg4: fffff88001921b5a, address which referenced memory
Although not pointing to a particular driver other than a legitimate Microsoft driver,
ndis.sys, we can by association look for probable causes.

Code:
fffff880`0b245bd8 fffff880`019219c0 ndis!ndisReceiveWorkerThread
fffff880`0b245bd8 fffff880`019219c0 ndis!ndisReceiveWorkerThread
fffff880`0b245b48 fffff880`01921b5a ndis!ndisReceiveWorkerThread+0x19a
fffff880`0b245288 fffff880`019a50eb ndis!ndisMIndicateNetBufferListsToOpen+0xdb
By going through your drivers I can see that your Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
driver is very old.

Remove Daemon Tools, it's known to causes issues with Windows 7.
Code:
Start Menu\Programs\DAEMON Tools Lite
  1. Uninstall Daemon Tools using the Add or remove programs utility found the Control Panel.
Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :
Double click to open it.
Click this button only:
2012-12-13_224441.jpg

If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.

Cleanup your startup
by following this tutorial, basically only your Anti-Virus should be there.

If you're experiencing anymore issues feel free to post back here!

Thank you so much for the fast reply!
-I cleaned my start up processes.
-The link for the SPTD (Disk-Tools.com) didn't really work for me (505 bad gateway) o.o
-The Realtek drivers on the site you sent me confuse me, the newest one is dated 2008, am I just being silly or something?
And if I download the file, what do I do with the stuff inside??

Ok, uninstalled Daemon Tools, used the SPTD uninstaller (I pressed a button, yay!) and downloaded the file (I got the wrong one before).

Thanks a lot for the help and I hope this will fix my problem.
Is it possible that the issues I face have anything at all to do with the fact that my system might have had a bit too much heat? Not sure if it did to be honest.

Good :) .

I didn't find any evidence of over heating when looking in the System Event Log.
If you're worried about overheating you can Download Speccy and monitor them.
You can Upload a Screenshot if you're unsure how your PC stacks up :geek:.

I don't think that my computer is overheating right now, I'm just afraid that it might have at some point and that that's what's causing problems :/
But is it normal that my graphics card almost reaches 60°C right away, nothing special running O.O

Anyways problems continue :S
I had another blue screen today just after I started up my computer and started watching a youtube video. my flash player crashed and the blue screen followed. I don't know what was on it because it passed so quickly >.<
I did another log with the SF Diagnostic Tool and added it below.

What I did see is that the blue screen had way fewer error codes so I guess we can take that as an improvement? :D

60°C is at the high-end of my comfort level, is it pretty toasty but if that is at idle
the temperature will only raise under load it's something you should take special note of!
Upload a Screenshot when idle and when you try to watch a video (if it won't crash).

Unfortunately no dumps are present in the .zip file you uploaded.
You can follow this tutorial and configure windows to generate a .dump file.

Screenshot with and without video in the attachment. When in game it goes up to a bit over 70.

I did that before and did it again. I have no clue why it didn't work :S
Can I try to just post the .dump file?

Sorry for not pointing this out, you asked in such a way that made
me think you know where to find them :o.

The dump files are located:
Code:

I can see you have CCleaner installed, it deletes the dumps when it is executed
uninstall it and wait for another crash to occur.

Do you happen to use RAID?

OK good, just in case the dump file will not be created try and catch the BCCode it will give
us an idea as to what is going on.

The reason I asked you if you have a RAID setup is because your MSINFO32 file doesn't specifiy
the type of hard drives you're using.
Code:
Beschreibung Laufwerk
Hersteller (Standardlaufwerke)
[U][B]Modell ARRAY0[/B][/U]
Code:
Beschreibung Laufwerk
Hersteller (Standardlaufwerke)
[U][B]Modell ARRAY1[/B][/U]

Can you fill in the blanks?
If you're interested, you can read more about RAID HERE.

The file you uploaded didn't contain information about the HDDs, other than
what I had suspected, confirmed that a RAID is in fact in place.

RAID is known to be troublesome and better to be avoided where possible.
Wait for the new dumps to arrive, if they will get generated at all, this could also be a sign
that the RAID configuration has taken a turn for the worst.

So this has the possibility of killing all of my files? I was planning on upgrading to windows 8 at some point, should I maybe try that, set the computer up anew and delete everything?
