Soundblaster Live SB0200 Drivers Win 7 x86

I wasn't able to get the onboard drivers to install so that I could get audio to the 1/8" jack, my Intel 945 PVS MOBO, so I picked up a SoundBlaster Live SB0200 board at a thrift shop and now I've been having trouble finding drivers on Creative Worldwide Support site or elsewhere. When I click on the link "if you item isn't listed please click here" they only offer x64 drivers. I've tried compatibility mode and I still get an error "The Windows Operating system is not supported by this product" Does anybody know where I can find x86 drivers? I'll keep searching the posts on this site. Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi Lumberjack83 and Welcome to Seven forums
Your only option are these third party drivers. If memory serves that is a Soundblaster Live probably a Dell and is years out of date. The last drivers from Creative were for XP.
Try these unofficial drivers.

If the manafacturer doesn't provide the drivers you can try to find the third party drivers. And if you are unsuccessful then you have to either return the card or upgrade to 64 bit version of windows on the system.

After a few days of trying unsuccessfully to get the sb0200 to work, I returned it to the thrift shop and picked up a turtle beach card and encountered the same results. Just as an experiment, I wiped the HDD and installed XP. I immediately had sound before installing 3rd party drivers, but for some reason, I couldn't get the onboard network interface to work, so no internet. I downloaded the LAN and Chipset drivers from intel to a removable usb drive and the LAN driver installed, but the Chipset driver download was corrupt. I've decided that I'll wait until pay day and pick up a cheap sound card from Fry's. It seems that MS and hardware manufacturers are in cahoots, not keeping legacy drivers available and not writing an OS that is backwards compatible. Thank you for the suggestions.

Microsoft used to provide backwards compatibility with new OS', but with Windows XP that started to diminish. There were several issues with compatibility with older hardware when Windows XP came out. Users had to get new printers, some sound cards, etc. So its not that XP is compatible and newer OS' are not. There was a change in the way Windows handled some audio functions in Vista and the reason XP drivers do not work. (Vista drivers work in Win 7 and Win 8).

But, if you insist on using old hardware then you will have to stick with an old operating system. Windows 7 and Windows 8 are designed for current hardware technology. The Dimension 2400 (which was sold by Dell as an entry level Windows XP system) is old, obsolete, hardware. The Dimension line was discontinued about 6 years ago and it is no longer supported. I had a Dimension E510, a much newer model than the 2400 and supported for Vista 32 bit, but it was still old technology and I dumped it.

Please check the chipset and LAN drivers for your system which should work without any issues if system has XP installed:

However, there are no Windows 7 drivers available for this system as it is a EOL(End Of Life) system.

You can also consider purchasing a different sound card or update to 64 bit version of windows.
